  1. Got mine today. Prelims is awful. Camera angles all over the place. Finals is somewhat better, but any wide angle shots are horrible due to the sun setting. There is a huge shadow across half the field. The guard gets completely lost at times. I realize there is nothing the company can do about that, but maybe DCA could turn the lights on so there isn't such a huge shadow across the field?
  2. I'm just annoyed that my credit card got charged way back in September, but I have yet to see a product. Pretty lame.
  3. Ah!!!! Empire is doing the show I said someone should field! Wizard of Oz from all three sources! I'm excited to see what they bring to the field.
  4. Its hot. Very little breeze. No clouds. High humidity and dew point. Yeah Minnesota in the summer!
  5. The corps has been on the road for about 2.5 hours. Keep your eyes peeled for Green Bus v.6 and the Tremendous Bus! No fancy coach busses for the Govies!
  6. No. I am not a Lions fan. I bleed purple. It just makes me used to disapointment. Does anyone listen to KFAN? Whenever Detroit wins they claim 'the roar is restored'. Hense the eye roll Lets just go have some fun in LaX!!! TREMENDOUS! TREMENDOUS! OH! OH! TREMENDOUS!
  7. Don't make me tremendously hurt you Roark. It's more like this: Vikings = Bears = Lions = THE ROAR IS RESTORED!!!! Packers = :blah: Lets leave football out and just be TREMENDOUS!!!!
  8. It's not a Patricks shirt, is it? B) BTW - there will be a 5 gallon cooler of the tremendous Sangria that made its debut at the Big Gay Cow Fest from the summer. For those who ride on the tremendous bus, of course! TREMENDOUS! TREMENDOUS! OH! OH! TREMENDOUS!
  9. Gosh Dennis, you hung out with us this year at Ohio and DCA. You know how serious we all are. We never have any fun. B)
  10. <**> Oh Hells No!!!! Nobody wants to see that again. Unless you plan on bringing more beverage to wipe out the memory.
  11. Nope. You are correct. I had to rewind my DVR a few times to make sure. DCA found a way into the DCI broadcast. Go Brass!!!!! My two cents on the broadcast: I found the background stories on each of the corps interesting. It's nice to recognize where these huge corps came from. Many have humble beginnings and I think the directors tend to forget that at times. I was dissapointed that Spirit and Colts were given the short stick. They make the top 12 but not the broadcast. I do miss the 'old' days when I was a kid and DCI was broadcast on PBS. My mom and I always looked forward to watching the 'band show' Thanksgiving weekend.
  12. The brotherly love is so touching! :P Nice review John. It brings back memories of the best part of the weekend.
  13. No way. Ernesto packed quite a punch with the wind. This storm system just had a ton of rain with it. I spent my evening after the St Paul show clearing the water that decided to take residence in my basement. There is some nasty flooding going on in the southeastern part of the state. Patricks rocked. A little calmer than last year, but a great crowd of die hard drum corps people. B)
  14. BOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! St Peter show is rained out. Party at Patricks starts early. :mmm:
  15. Bus 5 did not let us down!!! Govies arrived back to St. Peter by about 5:30 pm. Thanks to all for making the crazy trip out there a good one. Can't wait to do it again for DCA (coach bus for that trip)!
  16. No way was that at Mankato. 130 degrees in Minnesota? I don't thinks so. Not to mention the stadium at MSU-Mankato is grass. Sounds like a crappy show wherever it was. Almost as bad as DCA prelims. Go Hurricane Ernesto!
  17. Nice. Guess that DCA Class A Championship in 2005 means nothing. On topic, You get what you take from the show. Pick the songs with the meaty melodic lines, you will have a successful show. Pick the songs full of musical cheese, your show will suffer. I wonder when we will see a show combined from the three Oz shows - Wicked, The Wizared of Oz and The Wiz. Performed by any corps, of course.
  18. Glad you guys had fun visiting the frozen tundra of Minnesota. Amber, don't apologize for the weather. This is true Minnesota!!!
  19. That's nothing. I just witnessed the future of Drum Corps on the Super Bowl pre-pre game show. I'm sure Hoppy was busy taking notes
  20. I personally enjoyed the dueling "banjo's". Very enjoyable way to ring in the new year. Back on topic, the first rehearsal rocked. If you missed it, the next one is Jan 19th and 20th.
  21. Nice to see this is a wide spread occurence. Many Govies returned to MN with a case of the sniffles. Great way to start a new school year. I need to go find another package of Sudefed and some tissues........ Maybe I'll just go have a beer instead That's better B)
