  1. If they could, they would. In terms of vocabulary, Bluecoats are close
  2. Got close to the front of the food line but had to jump out so I didn't miss the home team. Ran straight out, and the had CLOSED THE F#$&#@G CONCESSION STAND!!!!!!!! Anyway, the Cadets were great!
  3. I made a conscious decision to only say positive things this season. But seriously. Whoever is running this show needs to figure it out. The traffic/concession/souvie experience is one of the worst I've ever experienced.
  4. So impressed with Cadets improvement! I see (and hear!) this in top 6!
  5. And the body work while they play it is stunning. The amount of physical control to be able to move like that and still play with such musical control is just unreal.
  6. Crown horns are truly magnificent. But that ballad. Wow! May be the most mature brass playing not of this year but any drum corps I can remember. I know that's a bold statement, and I'm sticking to it!
  7. Truth! In my youth in the 80's, I could tell you every placement. Now I hardly remember who won in any year.
  8. I'm not impartial. I like shows that I like🤣 I grew up in TN, have lived in OH for the past 25 years, and I marched in corps from IN and NJ. I do like visiting CA. I was in San Francisco a couple weeks ago for the opera, and I loved it as always! I'm definitely a BD fan. They're great! Also a huge fan of Crown, Coats, Madison, Phantom, Cavies, etc, etc, etc. But Cadets is my team!
  9. Right back atcha! I remember waiting in the tunnel in 88 and seeing the end of your show and hearing the crowd go nuts!! Still one of my favorites! Btw, in 88, we traded off who was "horn sergeant" at retreat between age ours. I got to do one time only, and that was in Morgantown!
  10. I don't know the answer, but I recall 1985 when SCV won guard....aaaand then were told Spirit won 😬
  11. NO!! The sooner it comes, the sooner drum corps is over....and school starts!!! 😭
  12. In 2021, I was happy to see that drum corps could still be awesome without competition. I'm getting old, and I'm kind of over the numbers.
  13. I was being somewhat sarcastic. On this forum, there has been some pretty brutal criticism of Cadets. They don't get the heat much now except for from the alumni 🤣 😢 I was marching Star in 86, and I don't remember them being booed, but we were jealous that they kept beating us 🤣 I was fortunate to go to Garfield in 87 and 88. Great years for drum corps!
  14. It's a shame people only hate on BD, Crown, Boston and Bluecoats. So over the top!! Fortunately, no one ever criticizes my Cadets. 🤣 😢
  15. I wouldn't say that. They're wonderful. BD is just on a different level. But the BAC low brass is especially great!
  16. True dat. I was fortunate to see BAC, Crown and Coats in Cincinnati. TV is...well...TV. Looking forward to Atlanta when I get to see them all.
  17. It's amazing how people perceive things differently. I felt exactly the opposite. As soon as Boston started, I felt badly that they had to follow BD and have those sounds go head to head. BAC is indeed wonderful, but this BD corps is on another level. Of course, it's all subjective anyway. Overall, great year for drum corps!
  18. Just went back to rewatch BD. I can't agree with you on this. But I'm just a dumb horn player.
  19. BD is just astonishing. There is an enormous vocabulary, and they perform so well. They really do make it look easy!
  20. This is a great show and the ballad of the year! Is it just me, or did it sound overblown and out of tune tonight?
  21. When they move them later in the show during the percussion feature, they are formed into the famous Manet cutout called "The Snail". They have to be those solids to work
