Wonder what percentage of people only go to Championships week and don’t FLO. IOW percentage who wouldn’t know the show was changed. Or those who saw the “old” show don’t remember that it was different… or really give a rats hindquarter anyway. “Oh that’s different 🥱” How much does it really add to a show… or score 😈

About 15 years ago I started a thread asking why people don’t go to another corps if they miss their dream corps. Lot of “for the amount of money, it’s my dream corps or not worth it”. Or “only have one season to march so why waste it” as have other options over the summer. Hmmm… some things haven’t changed

Used to be think you could find a game every week night within a 15 mile radius of Harrisburg. Then a business started a big money place to drive out the smaller games. But… then PA started the no smoking laws which hurt all the games.

Yep, society changed which lot of people can’t or won’t understand or accept.

I don’t see the DC activity growing as only movement is in SoundSport and that hasn’t really helped DCIs “bread and butter “ (top corps). IMO board needs to concentrate on what is causing current corps not to field or go under (costs, finances, member safety, etc). As I was told long ago we’ve always had corps go under, the problem today is new corps are not coming up to replace to corps that leave

Wonder how saturated the Bingo market is in that area. IOW you open up a second hall to run certain nights you might be competing with already established games. Double halls does not guarantee double the money

Can’t even imagine what that looked like, especially in a larger stadium. Figure number of performers was probably close to half that number. i know different era but never did a show with that small a crowd. Including Bradford, RCA anthracite towns and Mechanicsburg at the town stadium.

I’m wondering (have been for a while) where a corps insurance carrier says “here’s your new premium for the season…. There’s been an increase in the cost” 😳 Or…. “After looking it over, we’re not going to renew your policy “

Is there anyone on the BoD who has a business or financial background? Weird how when someone who doesn’t have a DC or music background is named for a corps top spot people flip out. Cant have the music without the financial footing folks

Yep repeating story of person I knew who pled guilty to take a suspended sentence. Was in a group and had to go to court every time one of the group appealed something. No idea if he did anything wrong but had a family and going broke on costs

Or feel can get a better judgment with jury of peers instead of the judge. Wonder what is the history of judges rulings in cases like this in the district.

Understand the problems with time due to other events and All Age corps logistics. Just as a performer doing your last show at THE event that early. Ok great show, let’s go for brunch.. 🤮

During the show the first time we turned backfield I totally lost the beat. Had to stop playing and look at peoples feet. Would love to hear a recording to know how bad the sound was.

New Orleans SuperDome… lol had a quick practice there 1978 American Legion nationals. Only other people in the place was tour groups. Clap your hands and you could follow the echo 4 or 5 times. There…. (turn 180) there… etc etc

When I came back to watching DC in 2003 had a very wet spring. Went to pre season exhibition show and the two DCI corps were still learning end of drill which was unusual then. IOW rainy week days hurt also

Accountability to members, CA and possibly DCI? Amazing ability to keep pointing out the the good things and ignore the bad: Last year when a money crunch bragged how it was resolved but no answers on “could this happen again” questions. And nothing I saw on the CA paperwork fiasco. Now brag the numbers and ready to go on the field. But nothing on same paperwork fiasco and how this could cause bingo to close

I figured there was no real way to answer my question. But it was only way I could think of to state my thoughts

“Petition the DOJ”??? Are saying it’s possible to get the DOJ to act differently to certain groups if you complain enough?

Question I have is did the drop in delinquent numbers mean organizations corrected things…. or status went from delinquent to denied (or whatever term is for having non-profit revoked).

Wonder what CA track record is for not renewing non-profit status. Was in two PA groups that lost theirs for a while. One missed filing the paperwork (IOW someone screwed up). The other because they no longer met the non-profit qualifications. No idea how much warning they received as the board hid what was going on.

Problem I had with Rices RAMD posts was it turned into “something happened somewhere, some time with somebody and someone (else) should do something about it”. IOW he knew or heard the details but didn’t go (or quit going) to the authorities. So one of us should report (with no information). Note: I missed early posts as was a later arrived to RAMD. Kicker was a Reddit poster claiming RAMD posters had a conspiracy by not reporting. Tried to explain Rice gave us nothing reportable but gave up. That poster was later banned by Reddit…

No idea on this rule… or any rule for that matter. Just a reminder that DCI can do what it wants… but if the state does anything that kills the bingo income 🥲
