  1. There are judges tapes all over the related fb corps and youtube. Just go look for them.

  3. Feeding and buses for a 300+ member corps for a full tour? Good luck with that.
  4. In 1990, watching Star's hornline and being in absolute awe. . . I was fortunate that we saw so much of them that summer.
  5. Man, the whining on this thread is amazing to me. The staff is making an artistic choice here. I don't know what the program is for the coming year, but perhaps the staff feel that going all-female for this season is a better fit? Is it the best choice? Time will tell. If it isn't, you'll probably see a new staff. That's the risk. No risk = no reward Will this put PR at a competitive disadvantage? That remains to be seen an well. You have (2) all-male corps that put themselves at a competitive disadvantage in ALL captions year-in and year-out in terms of recruiting, but they seem to survive, and many years even thrive. SCV and other corps (Bluecoats come to mind - 1990 maybe) have made this switch before. It wasn't that big of a deal back then, but then we weren't "blessed" to have such a "community" where malcontents could whine, dissect and second-guess every decision made in the off-season. We were so deprived back then.
  6. Windex. No taco salad, please. When we had taco salad we lost.
  7. Many, but not all. Yamaha faithful since the 1987 season. . . . .
  8. Morris Brown was shafted. Big time. Oh, the injustice.
  9. I can honestly say I didn't hear any booing either, but I was out at the 20 yard line. Maybe the quality of sound of the "boos" was greater at the 50. If that's what an extra $40 (on top of the $85 that I paid) gets you, I'll pass. . . . The lack of enthusiasm at the announcement of the champion was far more telling than any boos from the audience. It was just a totally different feel from any finals I have ever attended before.
  10. Standing ovations have a way of adding a few seconds to the overall time of the show.
  11. Yep. Funny how times change, don't they? “Before you go and criticize the younger generation, just remember who raised them.” - unknown (at least by me)
  12. I am really glad that threads like this weren't around when I marched.
  13. Ok, that was a good one. Best of luck to the men of Madison this summer.
  14. No major predictions, just wanted to be part of the best thread title since I started reading DCP a long time ago. I loved this show 20 years ago, and I still do. I am so glad it's still around. 1990 Normal Show trivia: The night before this show the Cavies won their first DCI regional ever at Whitewater, upsetting (2) undefeated corps. The show was a lot later in the season in those days. Early the next morning one of the tenor players stumbled off the bus in Normal and thought that he had dreamt the entire thing. This show "broke in" the artificial turf at the stadium. It had been installed the night before. Slippery stuff!
