  1. so there was some stuff on the first 10 pages about haveing to save bottles for pee. well let me tell you, that's not just a wisconsin thing. we do that at Fever. we dont want people's urine smelling up the bus so we tell them to save whatever they can. and we never have the incident mentioned earlier about the open container falling on anyone's head. we require caps and we leave them in the bathroom. we also leave the empty bottles in the bathroom, we're generous. of course we did have that one dangerous incident involving rookie talent night. when you dont have a talent, we appoint one for you. and when we have pee bottles to juggle, you dont want to be a rookie without a talent. oh man that was scary.
  2. Fever played dynasy bari for hlaf of '03 and kanstul euph for the 2nd half. lead bari(dynasty) '04 and dynasty (1st) euph '05 (we had 1st and 2nd bar and 1st and 2nd euph)
  3. good point felixh. oh well guess i cant do anything about it now.
  4. old phart if... you remember how many time and what years the cadets changed their name, but your alzheimers prevents you from remembering what their currently called so when you're at finals you just yell out "HOLY NAME!!!!!!!!!!"
  5. man i didnt mean for this thread to turn into a bunch of bashing other people's corps or disrespecting anyone or anything. i alos didnt want it to become a discussion of dci politics or bad judging, i just wanted people to state their oppinions on who they thought should have won and nothing more. not "oh man i wish i could change it." that's not right. somebody close this thread. PLEASE!!!!!!
  6. i really want to try the new kings i've heard so much good feedback about them. i finally have my dynasty euph to play on and i love it. it feels better and sounds better (to me) than the kanstul euph i used for marching band. but i have no decision on euphs until i try the kings which probably wont happen any time within the next however long.
  7. i'll start with just one. Star '93... shoulda got first for that one and everyone i know doesnt seem to know why. i though it was better executed than the Cadets that year, and i mean no disrespect to the Cadets of that year, i love that show too(second fav that year) i just think Star should have gotten it.
  8. oops sorry i forgot to mention that one too. i've done that with two pairs of shoes because none of my shoes are that heavy. one of our new techs told us to drape a wet towel over the bell and hold that up. i'm thinking it works pretty good because wet towels are pretty heavy.
  9. so how are some ways you good 'ol euph players exercised to help hold up your horns? i held up two milk jugs for a long time and did craploads of 'shups. but i think i'm marching euph again this year so i wanna know som eof the things other people have done so that i may try them out. thanks.
  10. i've played on yamaha, kanstul, dynasty, and crappy student model kings. i can tell you if you band director goes for king it had #### well better be their ultimate marching brass and nothing else. i like kanstul, good tone quality, good intonation, especially with baris and all not tuning. dynasy, not much to say, not bad, not great, decent, i played one all last summer. the only real beef i had with it was that bracing on the third valve slide. i havent had the chance to play on the new ones yet. now yamaha. i dont know what it is about them, i just dont like the horn. i have nothing to back that up with so i'll leave it at that.
  11. i jsut want to know at what point in every SCV show since '88 did the cymbal line do The Viper. i've seen it in '88, '97, '02, and '03. but what about the other years, i mean i really havent see every show since The Viper was "invented". i just want to know what points in the show to look out for.
  12. hey dolfo. i've been told to just relax and use lots of air. and the best way to use more air is it work on lots and lots of pedal notes. if you had 4 valves you could do tons more. but it really helps a lot.
  13. yeha i like dan alot too. but that's not the reson i didnt run him over. :P i could have and it would have been a good one to chalk up on the good times.
  14. i had the perfect oppertunity to run over a percussion judge last season, funny thing too, he marched Freelancers and he was my band director my freshman year in high school. well anyway dare i mention his name *cough dan bryan cough* i had the perfect chance to run him down on one of the last sets of our show (our last show of the season by the way) i saw him coming, and with all of the things that i had to think about in the show already i managed to think for a split second about runnig him over, what went through my mind was exactly this, "oh man, dan's running to the drumline. i can take a 4 to 5 instead of my 6to5 and run him over. but i really need to keep the form. ok i wont do it." now i have regrets about it. i felt his shoe graze mine. and that might have been my only chance to run down a judge. especially my old band director. but oh well, i'm sure i'll have more opportunities in my 7 years that i have left.
  15. ok, i just really wanna know something. my band director told me about as he put it, "An old drum corps wives tale" about how in 1991 (the year they won) Star of Indiana played so loud when they were warming up, that they put a crack in a window by where they were warming up. can anyone bring this to truth for me? thanks.
