  1. Yep...an nope I am not kidding. The run through after finals ( or what we call the "mud Run through") are really one of the last entertaining and fun parts of DCA. The idea that this is such a huge problem for only two days and then we are gone just does not sit very well with me. So the message is clearly come to Rochester, spend money in our hotels, bars and restaurants...cuz that's ok but if you make noise after 10PM we are going to send the PoPo out to taze you...sorry not interested.
  2. Oh Well there you have it ..I want to thank you Jeff your statement makes it very easy for me to say goodbye to DCA for good after this year.
  3. So that it doesn't come as a surprise to you next weekend, you need to be aware that some of the neighbors in the area of the stadium have been talking with Rochester city officials. As a result the Mayor’s Office has gotten involved. The Mayor's Office has informed the local organizing committee that after the competition finishes in the stadium on Sunday night, the corps absolutely MAY NOT gather in the streets and parking lots and play a final concert. No argument. No debate. This same directive would apply after Prelims on Saturday. If any corps violates the city's directive, the police WILL become involved and DCA will be helpless to do anything when the police begin to issue citations and fines to those who are violating this city directive. Please talk with your staff about this before arriving in Rochester and develop a plan for what your corps will do when you leave the stadium on Saturday evening. Please inform your members of this new directive before arriving in Rochester. All the corps left Scranton with a bad taste in their mouth for the Moosic “brown shirts.” We do not want a repeat of that sad experience in Rochester. Consequently, we ask the administration of every corps to make sure that neither your staff nor members do anything imprudent after Championships that will damage the good relationship DCA has worked so hard to establish with both the City of Rochester and the Rochester Police Department.
  4. I think a Glee show would be simply fabulous
  5. Great Idea....but my sources ( fairly reliable) tell me G7 isn't gonna happen anytime soon. Let's just say some of the supporters have lost their muster to go through with it after all the attention it has received.
  6. Congrats to the Blue Crew...You make me proud to have been a member and you certainly have become a Juggernaut of an organization. I beginning to wonder what will happen when the B corps starts competing against the A corps! :-)
  7. Ok I dont care who you are...that's funny right there
  8. I think if they replaced Little Geoffrey with Little Chuckie the the show would be infinitely more entertaining...Im just sayin
  9. yes, if you look closely it was clearly three shakes not two!
  10. It's a pretty good list there area always going to be disagreements ..my only one is that 1995 Madison isnt in there.. that show rocks
  11. Again I am not really worried about first off I was 42 when I got my first tattoo, secondly today's art is not yesterdays "Sailor Anchor" and again mine are deeply personal and hold a great deal of significance to me just as drum corps is a significant part of who I am today. If all I have to regret at the end of my life is a tattoo then I say I am doing effing great. I am sorry your grandfather "hated" his tattoo but the real question is why? Was he not proud of serving in the Navy? Did he feel it no longer looked good 50 years later ( he could get it touched up)? Was it something he did while he was NOT sober? Or was it because of the judgments of others who made him feel uncomfortable or awkward about his decision? Bottom line I don't care if people think its just a fad and it goes, but more and more people I know are getting "inked" for personal, religious, and even fun reasons. I consider and design all my art while sober, and in fact most reputable tattoo artists will not work on someone who is drunk or stoned out of their mind. However, I understand your thinking might be different you are from a much older generation than myself, so perhaps tattooing was very taboo.
  12. Maybe we should put the "Green Shirts" on Segways!
  13. I keep hearing this mantra...and quite frankly I find your opinion quite outdated.
  14. I have two...my profile pic is one of them...I plan on getting one more and I have no regrets about my ink. They are personal and meaningful, and I would like to hope that the stigma or at least the perceived stigma of getting ink are behind us. Furthermore I did not think it hurt at all. I know some places are more painful that others, but in general the back and shoulders are a pretty safe bet. Finally, I am quite happy with the fact that they are permanent and is something that in the end I will take with me to the grave.
  15. I would like to order some new ones and I am just curious about your opinion?
  16. mah..amps...to me they are a forgone conclusion I have already moved on to the laser discussion..when ...where...and can we ignite stuff with them?
  17. Here is my bold prediction...after this year's final ...there will be a new rule! That's all I can say
  18. Well this is news to me and I JUST bought my ticket to Ra Cha cha....so I guess no matter #### what I will be there!
  19. and ya know we lost sleep over this fact all tour long that year
  20. I am seriously thinking the Renegades would have to resurrect another old tradition..."The Snuggie"!
  21. Hey the season is full swing...by now many of you have had another dream involving drum corps..if you haven't add the Drum Corps Dreams page in Facebook then go add it and post your dream good or bad ..and take some time to read everybody else's dreams. It looks we all have a lot of dreams in common.
