  1. I always thought it was "California Sucks!". While it appeared on the original albums released in 1974, it was digitally removed when they released the CD collection many years later!
  2. Scott I thought the package was just great. I received my copy last week and have already watched it multiple times. My question is.............................what else might be released in the near future? I noticed some little "teasers" during the production portion of the DVD. Give us a hint!! Thanks for a great DVD set.
  3. Sorry, I see now that corpsreps.com didnt have the actual numerical score. Sorry for the mistake.

  5. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the progress (or lack thereof) of the 1972 DCI Finals DVD release? We were discussing it 6 or 7 months ago. Hardbat productions had finished the DVD and was waiting for clearance from DCI. If anyone knows anything or has heard anything, please post. Thanks in advance!
  6. I've been waiting for the past couple of months for the release of the 1972 DCI Finals from the videos that were found in Jim Jones' library. While waiting, I've been thinking....Is this the video that every drum corps fan/historian has been waiting for? I also know that there in nothing from 1973 or 1974 (with the exception of DCI Midwest and 3 prelims peformances). I bought a DVD off of ebay which contained about 2/3 of the 1975 Muchacho's prelims peformance...so, I've seen that one!! What is the recording that all of us are waiting for to surface? I've developed a real appreciation for the 1965 VFW finals in McCormick Place in Chicago. Has anyone ever seen any film or clips of this show? I've seen lots of still pictures but no film. Does anything exist? I'd be interested in hearing about some people's wishes. Their "Holy Grail"! Thanks in advance P.S. Is there any further progress on the release of the 1972 finals?
  7. I've been an avid fan of corps since the early 1970's. However, for some reason, 1973 almost seems like the season that never happened. I have found that there are many writings, references, and recordings from 1972 and 1974, but not a lot of references to 1973. I understand the historical significance of 1972, and I know how popular the shows of 74 were. Is that why 1973 seems to be forgotten? Did it just happen to fall between two extremely great years? Just wondering! P.S. Has anyone else heard anything else about the DVD release of the 1972 finals? I'm very, very anxious to see it.
  8. Any further word on the progress? I went to the website of the company that restored the footage, but no word from them either. www.hardbat.com/PROD/1972dci.html Thanks An old timer just anxious to see it.
  9. We are currently looking for a new person to take over the full color guard program (outdoor and indoor) with the Farragut High School Band. Farragut High School is located in Knoxville, Tennessee. A full description of the program can be found at www.farragutband.org. If anyone has an interest and would like to discuss the job, please contact me at RRogers886@aol.com. I look forward to hearing from and talking with you. Ron Rogers, Director of Bands Farragut High School
  10. I always heard that the Madison Scouts completely revamped their 1976 show in midseason in hopes of challenging the Blue Devils at DCI Finals. I know that with the exception of "Stars and Stripes Forever" and the percussion solo, they brought back their 1975 championship show. Questions: 1. How good was the original 1976 show? Did it have a chance to challenge the top corps? 2. Does anyone have a recording of that show? I have looked for it for quite a few years with so success whatsoever. Thanks Roadhog470
  11. If I'm not mistaken, the finals were shown live from 1975-1981, with the 1981 broadcast being of DCI Midwest (they still showed all the corps in their entirety). I can remember getting back to my house late in 1977 just in time to watch the Bridgemen's performance.
