  1. 12C... juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust kidding
  2. so good... we played since i fell for you with my marching band (yes, i know, it's not corps) last year and were supposed to play the tag with the soloists... but couldn't because of some stupid rule that you can't play while leaving the field... oh well... that is one of the sweetest endings in corps history
  3. i think they wouldn't have been as good if they didn't have the money... Just Kidding, Just Kidding!! I figured it was a Star thread so somebody would have to mention how they obviously only did well because they had money (sarcasm off). I think i liked 1992 or 93 the best. They're all good though..
  4. just want to clarify: i love the show, and it is kind of mind-boggling as far as placement goes (just like every scouts show)... but that gigantic Contra hole is sooo annoying..
  5. i wasn't at orlando this year, but how awesome is it that ott's legacy has lived on and that he is remembered by his corps decades after his death... i really wish i had been there to experience the pure emotion of that moment... it must have been awesome
  6. contra soloist in scouts 98 (hall of the mountain king)... hey, you gotta give him some credit, it's not every day you hear a contra solo
  7. sorry, i didn't clarify what "that year" meant... i meant '92
  8. did SCV have a contra missing on finals night that year? i just watched the video and there's a drill spot missing the whole show... anybody know the story?
  9. this is a little off topic... and i know this is an "historical" forum, but i really wish i had seen scouts 95... the crowd response alone makes me think that this is the one show that i wish i had seen live...
  10. yeah, my favorite show changes from day to day... like i said in the original scouts 75 was my favorite... now i'm really not sure... honestly, there are just way too many shows that give you chills, or make you go "holy ####", or stop breathing... maybe i'm just a drum corps nut... i don't know, i've been in a BD 92 mood lately
  11. now, drum corps has no doubt seen hundreds of skilled sop players in its history... who are those that stick in your mind 20 or 30 (or even as recent as five) years later... i'm sure this has been the topic of discussion for years now, but there's no current thread for it, so why not get it out in the open.
  12. alright, i see most underrated show ever, favorite opener, favorite closer, etc... but i see no general thing for just favorite show (at least not in the historical section), in general... so, i figured i'd start one... what is your favorite show, regardless of placement, year, overrated/underrated... my vote has to go to scouts 75... i don't care what anyone says, that show somehow manages to get my heart pounding regardless of how many times i listen to it, and no other show does that... so there
  13. one of my newfound favorites is scouts 79, when they go into "the way we were" and build up and hit that cut and there's silence except for the bass and then come in full blast... oh man... so good... that's all i can say.
