  1. If I recall correctly, DCA actually does have a minimum age as far as the competitive field show aspect. Whether it is written in stone or "suggested"........I would have to look, but presently too busy to check due to watching back to back episodes of the Peoples Court and Judge Judy.

  3. As a side-note, I don't think they are from the Halls of Montezuma either. although I think Monty is. The Halls of Montezuma are a whole different family linage.
  4. 1) A person cannot have it both ways as indicated (in red) above. 2) Any non-profit organization that does not adhere to their mission statement and goals (that allowed them to secure their particular non-profit status) are subject to lose said status. In short, if (as example) a non-profit is not registered as being political, religious, etc. in nature and wanders outside the scope of their mission statement by privately or publicly "taking a stand"...............they are toast.
  5. Minimum of 35 no matter what class. If over 65 a corps is automatically in Open. If under 65 a corps has the option to perform as a Class A or Open Class. Top ten scoring corps in prelims (no matter what class) are the voting 10 member corps for the next season. In short--a Class A corps can obtain the voting member status by being within the top 10 scoring corps in pelims, and an Open Class corps can be in Open Class finals---but not be a voting member. ................and all that info and 68 cents still only gets me a senior coffee at the local McDonalds.
  6. Kinda like the facilities in a person's own home.............
  7. I wonder what this Mr. Burgard just walked in? Perhaps........................... http://us.123rf.com/450wm/ferwulf/ferwulf1112/ferwulf111200648/11773257-good-luck-to-step-on-####.jpg
  8. .............and what? Harm the performing arts activity? The exact activity which is the most supportive of the LGBT community! That's akin to a self-crucifixion.
  9. I was stunned last week when I saw my lawyer standing on the street corner in an odd pose................his hands were actually in his own pockets!!!
  10. Hmmm, sometimes it depends on what condition one's condition is in.............. https://citysubwaycreatures.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/bathing-suits-for-fat-people.jpg
  11. The Kilties were allowed exclusive rights to arrange and perform the three movements of Gaelforce for a portion of the corps' 2007 production---direct from the composer as a courtesy to the Kilties----and gratis. The personal, friendly and cordial correspondences between the parties are archived---with copies of such provided to DCA and DCI at the time.
  12. Actually this could be considered a sad state of the activity...........
  13. I tend to think there just may be another............... http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymkfNB3shbw/Sk_CUEosdkI/AAAAAAAAH78/fznv7DAG_WU/s400/p54.jpg
  14. I suspect Sandra's "breakthrough" was actually with Argonne.
  15. Hi Gary, the show is back at Historic Horlick Field for 2016. In 2015 there was a scheduling conflict and the show was held at J. Case High School. Being back at Historic Horlick Field.......it's time to let the brew and brats flow---and smok'em if ya got'em. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horlick_Field As a historical side-note, there is a long understanding with the City of Racine that drum corps shows have priority for dates for the use of Horlick through and including all 4th of July weekends; after any 4th weekend---it's a balancing act working round the semi-pro football team's (Racine Raiders) schedule, city softball tournaments, etc.
  16. Tend to disagree: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/-HGIn0nnoTk/maxresdefault.jpg http://www.drumcorpscollectibles.com/Pictures/Kilties(Senior),Racine,WI.jpg
  17. There are some very iconic exceptions; where stadiums are used by schools and other community organizations. Nothing dry about this historic location, no matter what event. August 6, 2016---Kiltie Klassic Invitational https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horlick_Field Kilties MN Brass Govies CHOPS Erie Thunderbirds Cincinnati Tradition Gotta love it!!!
  18. No crap...there's not enough sleeve to roll up a pack of smokes.
  19. Most members stay within their own age group for any activities outside the performance and formal group aspect, both DCA and DCI sectors. Remember, there are adults (18 to 22) performing in DCI corps (plus staff) and as adulthood allows............there are legal privileges of age; no matter DCA or DCI corps.
  20. Before loading buses for an early morning departure for a trip, several of us vets removed a heavy manhole cover and had a rookie go down the metal ladder to the depths to check things out and let us know what was actually down there. When he got to the bottom of the ladder steps, we put the manhole cover back on the hole...................boarded the buses and left. Never knew what happened to him, never saw him again.
  21. Kilties closing tune title. "Skye Boat Song"
