  1. Up until last year I went to every show there. Took my parents and kids and never had a problem. It is not THE WORST area in Buffalo, I can take you there if you want to see it. That area where the stadium is isn't so bad.
  2. If it wasn't safe at Dunn Tire Park, they wouldn't have had it there. Trust me, you were safe! Ralph Wilson Stadium is better for the BIG show but Dunn Tire Park is good for the smaller show. University of Buffalo has a nice stadium but the field is to far away from the stands. Marion, OH was rough too as was Butler. No problems anywhere.
  3. 5 is not enough I agree, but between all the guys in here we could come up with a huge list.
  4. Hey Barry! Who was the red headed soprano player in 1976? Been looking for her for years. I forgot her name.
  5. You bash because you can. So what! For you younguns out there it started before I got into corps in 1969 and it will continue. Just like HS, college or professional sports...it happens. Big Deal!!!
  6. Okay, I had this idea....use music from great horn bands of the 70's One Fine Morning by Lighthouse Get It On by Chase Make Me Smile by Chicago Vehicle by The Ides of March God Bless The Child by Blood, Sweat and Tears BTW, Ides of March did a reunion CD a few years ago and they opened up with Vehicle...the arrangement was awesome!!! Listen to it and you'll see it would be a great opener for a corps.
  7. I can't wait til the return of the Dunkirk Patriots and the Suburban Knights from Getzville, NY Hey, will Guelph be playing "One Fine Morning?" That was an awesome tune.
  8. When I die, I want Santa Clara playing "Send in the Clowns", Blue Devils playing "Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor", Phantom Regiment playing "An American in Paris", Madison Scouts playing, "You'll Never Walk Alone" and 27th Lancers playing "Danny Boy".

  10. Okay I have it from the hints laid out....The Symphonic Music of The Carpenters as played by Emerson, Lake and Palmer (or Powell but he died so I guess it would be Palmer then).
  11. Completely different? I KNEW IT!!!!! Carpenter's Music !!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!
  12. I remember they played that in 1970, it's on a record (or it was on an album) in the North Tonawanda Public Library. Mark Twain Cadets, Royal Coachmen and 2 others I don't remember.
  13. Steve needs to be hurt! Where's Tony Soprano and his nephew Chris?
  14. ...bring back 5 corps, what 5 would you bring back? 1. Royal Coachmen (NY) 2. 27th Lancers 3. Precisionaires 4. Seneca Optimists 5. Muchachos
  15. I just saw saxophone players in a CRU uni, what's the deal? Man this will start a revolution hhehehehehehe
  16. In 1975 the Polish Falcon Cadets went from 17th and the next year dropped to 47th. Is that the largest jump down in drum corps?
  17. Why not Phoenix II? From out of the fire comes the legendary and magical bird. The Prince who encounters the Firebird is captivated by her beauty and captures her. He feels pity on her and sets her free and in return, the Firebird gives her a feather and promises to aid him in his hour of need. Why not use the name of your city...it worked for Boston, Chicago and even Kansas. Good luck!!!
  18. Hmmmmm, how 'bout "Firebird Suite/Light My Fire" by Phoenix, "Something" by Crusaders (1990).
  19. Theresa! How are you? Long time no see! Florida is GREAT!!!! Hot and sunny. Good to see you're with CRU again.
