  1. GMichael1223 suggested this topic/poll so he should get credit for this. Mine is...............I tend to like Spirits peach colored uni's that looked like Southern Belles. I thought they were quite sexy in a nice way.
  2. So many to choose from....hmmmm.....I guess I would have to say Suncoast but honorable mention to Bridgemen and Velvet Knights.
  3. Mine is definitely......Madison Scouts "MacArthur Park"
  4. Remember when the opener was called Off the Line? Well, you young'uns don't remember but us old guys/girls do. What was your favorite? Mine......"Crown Imperial March", 27th Lancers Honorable Mention....."Channel One Suite", Blue Devils Add yours

  8. Since Ken Kobold passed away and his recordings are "lost"......would anyone happen to have a recording or recordings of my old drum corps The Royal Coachmen from North Tonawanda, NY? I used to have 1976 from Ken, but a friend of mine "borrowed" it and I haven't seen him or it since. This reason for putting his recordings in storage is a bit odd to me....if I played on it, shouldn't I be able to have a copy? So every member owns that recording right? I'll wait for the "experts" to respond to that. In the mean time....anyone have the old recordings? Huh? Please!!!!!
  9. There are so many people that we have heard about throughout our time in this activity. Let's hear who yours are. Mine are.....Donny Allen, Mike Linton, Jerry Kelsey, Ted Key, Tom Peashey, Dick Hoppe, Sledge, Karl Essler. Start your own now
  10. I picked Buffalo for good reasons LOL, I am from there and I think that that's where the largest crowds were. Sorry about forget the MS city, can't think of it for the life of me AND I bet I forgot a city too. Oh well
  11. They did merge for 1974. They came to the NT Open that year with 4 buses and people couldn't believe how big they were. I think it was because of their size that DCI limited the membership to 128. As far as I know they never went back to Bleu Raeders.
  12. Just do what I did and do it here. T There is no organization yet BUT there could be...right?
  13. Everyone who marched in NY sign up for the NYDCA (New York Drum Corps Alumni). You get absolutely nothing but long lasting friends. Keith Hall 1969 - 1977 Royal Coachmen 1977, 1981 Frontiersmen 1982 Renegades (staff) 1984-89 Rochester Patriots 1990, 2000-2003 Rochester Crusaders Long Live NY Drum corps!!!
  14. You marched with or remember seeing Tom Peashey march. (Sorry Tom) Go to watch a rehearsal and wonder why they don't practice company fronts. you wonder why the color guard girls aren't wearing the "go go boots" or riding boots you get the urge to show the young'uns how to high leg lift like back in the day and you can only do it no more than 4 times and not 10 minutes non-stop Feel free to add more
  15. 1974 SCV 1975 Madison Scouts 1976 Blue Devils
  16. I guess I wasn't specific, although all the posts are great. What I was looking for was... Even though you had joined your corps, what corps sucked you in to drum corps forever? As I said I was already with a corps for two years but when I saw Anaheim...forget it, I wasn't leaving.
  17. Was that excerpt talking about 1970? I remember that was my first field show and Squires beat out White Knights from Baltimore, but I forgot who else was there...maybe Gauchos, Mello Dears, Mark Twain Cadets, etc. Someone remember?
  18. Obviously the corps you marched with played a role in you being a member of a corps but what CORPS that you saw/heard did you say, "NOW I like drum corps!" My corps was the Royal Coachmen of North Tonawanda, NY but the corps that sold me on staying with drum corps was the 1972 Anaheim Kingsmen at the US Open. Saw them at finals and went WOW! I saw so many corps at prelims I was delirious on the way home seeing signs that looked like drum corps. What a feeling! I wanted to march and play like them. And yours? Carry on
