  1. Back in the 70's I had to borrow a soprano from the Seneca PRINCEMEN and I always got the horn that was used by the sop player with the hook...whatever happened to him? Also.....Back in 1976 there were two girls from the Precious Blood cardinals and one had red hair and I think played sop...anyone know her? Did you know that.........Bruce Lindsay was a DM for the Royal Coachmen for one show? True story.

  7. Tri Town Cadets wore Bib overalls and straw hats Black Knights (Oswego) beat Greece Cadets Buckeyes walked off of retreat in a Rochester show backwards and the bari soloist gave the judges the finger. Squires were a "B" Class corps as were the Fulton Gauchos Marion cadets wore short sleeve shirts Blue Coats were an "A" Class corps Glassmen wore funny looking helmets Valve/Rotors or Valve /slides Triples Bleu Raeders wore track suits Practicing company fronts...why?

  9. Watkins Glen Squires Islanders (used to call them the "7-Up" corps...they were sponsored by 7-Up and had unis in green and orange, with a 7-Up patch on their shoulder.... Greenwood Lake Lakers..who merged with the Wayne NJ Monarchs to become the King's Regiment. Plus of course the many NYC corps. Mike How could I forget the Squires? and Purple lancers?
  10. 1970 Penn York prelims with the Royal Coachmen, we made finals that year. Surprised everyone!
  11. Since the Rochester Patriots are inactive for 2004 I started thinking about what happened to all the corps I remember: Mark Twain Cadets Southern Tier Grenadiers Barons of Stuben Mello Dears Castlemen Verona Eagles Syracuse Marauders Oswego Black Knights Mighty Liberators Cadets of Greece Firebirds Alpine Girls Tri-Town Cadets Imperial Regiment/Lakeview Shoreliners Royal Coachmen Southern Tier Express Lockport Blazers/Renegades Long Island Kingsmen St.Ignatius Girls I am sure the list could go on and on. Those were just some I could remember.
  12. I was with the Royal Coachmen in 1976, we were competing at the NT Open, "A" Class. We marched the NT Open parade prior to the show and then walked single file to our rehearsal site. Once there we rehearsed briefly and silently, in single file marched over to the stadium. We played and marched the best show and beat out the Kinsmen Krescendos and the Simplex Minutemen to win the "A" Class Championship. The next night we took last place in Open class (won by Marquis). What great times we had back then! B)
  13. What about the Hamburg Kingsmen, Dunkirk Patriots and Getzville Suburban Knights?
  14. How about Schlossgarde in 1987? Coming out with black capes with hoods playing Emerson, Lake and Palmers "The Score?" Cool corps!
  15. I see my old Royal Coachmen friends every so often. We have a reunion once in a while. But with NO drum corps in Western NY in sort of sucks. We can sell tickets for a World Championship but we can't support a drum corps, not a one!

  17. Just a yell over the ocean to you...if you want to come over to march with a really fun corps and lay on the beach on your off time...Heat Wave Orlando, FL (DCA) would love to have you. E mail me at HWBrassKeith@aol.com Especially all you Schlossgarde people.
  18. What corps would you have wanted to march with instead of the corps you were in? Mine would be Argonne Rebels....great horn line and Sandra Opie!
  19. I like Al Cass however BiNak seems to work the best in hot and cold weather. Clean valves before applying any oil and you shoudn'y have any problems.
  20. I'd also like to say Beth Fabrizio with Cru in 1990. She was also the DM and I thought she was awesome!!!!
  21. A few years ago, while watching quarters at Buffalo, there was a pretty good looking brass tech....I have no clue who she is but would she be with a corps now?
