prices for any event have gone up. I attended a DCI show in June where the best seats went for $40 for 5 corps. so $20 for 6 DCA corps in August? slam dunk. DCA has it's little quirks, like scheduling Scranton against DCI East, but it's growing slowly and surely, and the quality on the field gets better every year. Most top 6 corps would have won by points just 8 years ago. edit: $20 for a pro baseball game? sure if you like sitting way up in no mans land where even the video board looks small

wow, you missed some big shows live in the past then. it isnt just on DCP

for sale...one synth that created an echo sound effect., not needed if finals stay at Lucas Echo Dome -
ok. here we go...win win one show at a date Spandy likes in a stadium he likes. if you can make it fine...thats the one show of the summer. so be there. screw school, any other commitments. one date period if fans show up bonus, even if they look like fleas in a huge stadium oh and since the hurricane season is always an issue here, we can pick 9 rain dates as long as the photographers can be there so everyone can get a corps picture

amps were also a way to open up the membership size...with 80 brass, then they could say you couldnt hear them. no, you actually cant get away from the pit sound when amped. whats sad is we keep hearing these guys have all this experience in the band world.....where 9 times out of 10, their balance is light years better -
DCA does not yet have the fan base to fill a pro stadium...and good luck getting into one past August 1st anyways...preseason etc. and just by getting a huge stadium doesnt mean fans will come. we're not at DCI fan attendance levels yet, tho if they stay at Lucas Echo Dome, they may match DCA soon And we're not there yet because the regions don't have the fan support up yet to entice travel or relocation. please....what out of the NE region show draws 2000 customers? 3000? 4000? I keep asking this, and no one answers. gee, wonder why

TOP 10 things IN 2009 we think but dare not say!
Jeff Ream replied to CBrogers's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
i would put the 2nd judge up top for perc to handle ensemble, because obviously based on shows i was at live and looked at the recaps from, ensemble balance issues...HUGE ones....werent touched by the ensemble music judge. same thing in the band world...they are afraid to touch it as often ensemble music isnt a drum guy. yet last year at Allentown, Bluecoats pit ran very hot, and while the upstairs music number was good and high, the upstairs drum guy put em down where they should have been based on the balance issue. the role of the field judge is to sample all sections, not camp out with them, especially since so few batteries play during the ballad. -

it rains every year on Labor Day weekend? I can think of 5 times DCA was affected by rain, and 3 where it rained but didnt cause massive issues 1975 1987 1988 1990...show delayed a bit 1993 1999 2002...a little rain at prelims and a little at finals 2006 that's 18% of DCA's history. as for bids....do you have a big name stadium willing to bid for it earlier? also....will a DCA sized crowd look good in a major football stadium? I know what Winston Salem looked like. that wasnt pretty. a bigger stadium will not draw a bigger crowd. look at Winston Salem
