The Rose Bowl sucked. Traffic was terrible. Lines to get in the tunnels were ridiculous. Lines for the food and restrooms were even worse. I have never heard louder lights. The seats were way too small. (A person next to me sat in the aisle the entire show because they could not fit in the seat). And speaking of that the entire aisle was full of people just sitting there. Which caused a problem because the people coming and going during every show had difficulty walking around and talking during every show. And worst of all I paid $125 for my seats and by the time I got to them I was on the 10 yard line. I feel so ripped off!!! I love the fact that DCI came to California, but the venue was not good and it was poorly run. Most high school band shows are better run than that. Bye DCI. Thanks for coming to California. Good luck in Indiana. I have been to almost every finals since 1972. But I think I am done. I am tired of feeling ripped off. I will go to the local shows. And by the way, WAY TO GO BD!!! Congratulations for a great "Victory".

Just my 2 cents... It seems that the Esperanza organization knew months before the show that their director had left and that there would only be 3 board members left. If those 3 board members felt that they could not put on the show, why didn't they call DCI and say that either someone else would need to take over hosting or just cancel the show. I'm sure people would have been disappointed, but not returning calls or just not doing the job was not the best tactic to take. I'm sure people would have understood cancelling the show which was being hosted by a non-existent organization. All it would have taken is a phone call. And if that call was made early enough, maybe PC or some other organization could have taken it over and ran it more smoothly.

I was there. They are great. They announced full dress rehearsal tonight at 8:00

Seems like the entire problem was that the Esperanza organization was responsible for this show. They were not there. They was not even a mention of Esperanza at the show. They just seemed to disappear, just like their chances of ever coming back to division 1. Thanks to the Mount Carmel High School music department for puling through and keeping this show on the schedule!

And then Indy needs to lose out and finals come back to the west coast. Like that is ever going to happen.

So do you think we might find out something about Esperanza's 2007 plans at the DCI meetings this weekend?

It is January 15 and nothing yet on Esperanza's website about auditions. Last year their auditions were before January 15. Did I miss something? Does anyone have any info?

I can't wait to see both Impulse and VK this summer. I wish them both the best and hope that both corps do fantastic this year. Wouldn't it be great to see these 2 corps fighting it out for 1st place! ^OO^

Here we go again. Don't you know you are not supposed to ask that question! Just be patient and they will have their audition information up on the web-site soon. Or you can wait and try out for a different div 1 corps next year.
