  1. Here is my yearly visit to DCP!!!! HI *E*!!!!!

  2. omg, I havent been on here in forever!!!! HAHAHA its so different

  3. Adrian @ BAC for a number of years. Was also at Spirit before hand. I wanna say Spirit 03- BAC 04-06?
  4. i don't think there's a Bluecoats alumni out there that isn't proud of what this year's corps did.... I hope in years to come, they all look at that special penny hanging from their shoelaces and remember what they did for the program through this year. Blooo til Death.
  5. "DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT break a head"- Crown's bass tech to his students...
  6. not the biggest losses for the organization except for Mac. BUT, Ray is just as qualified to take over if not someone better. Everyone has consistantly made poor comments about Mitch's drill writing/the visual package. Subel didn't do much for the guard this year... Shanefield was a good addition, but Fairbanks will do well in replacing him. 2009 will be a good year for the corps regardless. I hope they find a great guard person and drill writer to get those aspects of the program up to par with what the Horns and Drums have done in the past.
  7. With their Quarters performance placement, I think it sets them up for success. They did the work for the major regionals and that in turn earned them a solid enough average to get them into a performance spot to show DCI they belong in the top 3. I think its up to PR, Crown, SCV, and even Cavies to knock them out of 3rd place. Lets also remember they have enjoyed coming up behind BD the past two years, lets hope BD wins and Coats follows that trend B)
  8. BK's current marching technique was based on the way they rehab people to walk again after breaking their leg(s). Robbie developed it since he is a phsyical therapist. It focuses on pointing(the toe) through the '&' count instead of rolling or making sure the leg is straight. I've noticed alot of corps use straight leg or "modified straight leg" as techniques now a days.
  9. janelle has the staff hook ups. #### first read judges...
  10. plan and simple explanation for the Star: I put it there. I thought it would add some color to the field, I was getting bored with green and white. Hope everyone liked it. It would have stayed but I used cheap paint, hence the fading after a while. :P
  11. Hmmm, last I heard( and mine you, I aged out two years ago so things "could" have changed), the standard size to a bassline in corps is 18, 20, 24, 28, 32. Some corps opt for a 22/26 in the middle and even a 30 at bottom but other then that basses are a great size. Now I know they arent like old days where top bass was a 24" drum, but.....more musicality has to be thought of now a days with basslines being given a number of melodic lines and motifs. And to agree with which Scribetoo, open your ears and you'll hear plenty of bass notes. I can go down a list of moments in a show(s) from previous years where the bassline was more then presence in the music. Listen to Cavies 04 for instances......
  12. a little info for you guys on Cavies' top bass. His name is Richard. Went to Reagan HS, goes to UT Austin, marched Cadet's pit 05-06(I believe). As stated before, this is his ageout. Great guy, good hands, great marcher even for his short status. He marched along side me in indoor for a season, glad to see him finally able to play bass for his ageout.
