  3. Congratulations to all corps and especially the Oregon Crusaders!!! Nice job!
  4. Send all the horns and guard to Pioneer!
  5. Hey everyone, Just realized that I didn't say how many valves the DEG has. It is a two-valve bugle. Thanks, Shane
  6. I have an old one-valve Ludwig G bugle, made in Germany,in its original case. It comes with a 7c mouthpiece. The case is marked Blue Angels, Wilson, NY. It is missing one latch. The only Blue Angels that I could find on corpsreps.com was from Brooklyn. Anybody out there heard of this corps? The leadpipe is very slightly bent downward right were the mouthpiece fits and the valve casing and tubing right around there has lost some finish. I count about four small dings on the horn. I am asking $40.00 for this horn. The other horn is a DEG Dynasty II G bugle, serial number 3391. The case is in great shape and so is the horn. It has one very tiny ding on the tubing heading towards the bell, almost not noticeable. The horn was bought by me about twelve years ago off of Ebay, played a few times and them put back in my closet. I am asking $75.00 for this instrument. If you are interested in both or either of these or have any questions, please send me an email. I can send pictures on request. Thanks, Shane shanapri.geo@yahoo.com
  7. Are talking about Dr. George Kenney! He is a great man!
  8. I always wanted to march with Southwind, my home state corps, and when I got the opportunity to do so in 1996 I did. I got married in 1997 and could have gone back to SW that summer but chose not to because of being newly married and having just moved from Alabama to Florida. Wayne Downey also called me and asked to for me to come audition at BD. My Dad answered the phone when he called and handed it to me. I was about to freak out, talking to Wayne Downey! My Dad was like, Wayne who? It was funny, you had to be there I guess. My age out year was 1998. I decided that I wanted to march it and my wife said go ahead, so in March I started looking for a corps to go to since SW was taking that year off. I emailed every World class corps and got responses from only two. Crossmen said to come to a camp and that they had two lead soprano spots open. Pioneer said come to a camp we have seven soprano spots open. I knew that I didn't have the range for a lead spot and didn't want to waste a plane ticket to New Jersey, so I flew to Milwaukee, loved it, and signed a contract. The next week someone from Crossmen calls me and says hey, we missed you at camp. We just had six soprano holes open up! Are you interested? So I could have probably marched with Crossmen in 1998 and made Finals, or with Blue Devils in 1997. Do I regret not going to New Jersey or Concord for those auditions, not really. It just wasn't meant to be I guess. Maybe in an some alternate universes I wound up with BD and Crossmen. :) I am very happy that I went in this universe to Pioneer!
  9. I was listening to some old western swing music (Tex Williams in specific) and heard his song "Smoke Smoke Smoke (That Cigarette)". I looked it up on YouTube to try and see a live performance and found someone had put together a video to the music and at the 32 second mark, used a photo of the Renegades. If you want to see it look up "codyleboeuf" on YouTube, it is his only video posted. Shane
  10. East - 27th Lancers and East Coast Jazz South - Southwind and Suncoast Sound West - Freelancers and Anaheim Kingsmen Midwest - Star of Indiana and Americanos Canada = Les Etoiles and Bandettes
  11. I can only guess that several seasons of placing last or close to last combined with the close proximity of so many other corps who aren't placing so low (Madison, Blue Stars, Colts, Cavaliers, etc.) puts a damper on the recruiting.
  12. 1998's "Irish in Your Face" was very fun to march! And, we got lots of positive comments from the audience plus standing O's that summer. I am glad you liked it!
  13. Hey Jim! Glad to hear from you, and glad Charlie is soloing! How is Dan the Man doing? Madison's show looks awesome! Hope you and the family are doing well! Thanks again for taking me along last August!
