My 10-year old watched DCI for the first time with me last night. Was like visiting old friends. Noticed a ton of things about old shows I hadn't before.
-
So, I'm guessing no more preseason recordings, as the season is now a week old? So only BD released one this year... sad. They provide an intimacy no competition recording ever can match.
-
End of an era - unsubscribed from the Yahoo scores e-mail list. I just don't care anymore about who's beating who.

DCP turns 10 on 2/14/12. Where have the years gone?
-
Really missing drum corps right now. For the first time in several years, I'm not concerned about what next year may bring.
-
I wish Crossmen and Academy the best in the Chase contest, but I'm unfollowing all corps from Twitter and Facebook until it's over.

If you're a drummer, the Crown standstill percussion only recording is pretty neat. Surprisingly light on synthesizers, too - I didn't expect that.
-
The Crown standstill recording is finally for sale! Woohoo!
-
This past season really made me feel positive about the activity and the direction it's going.

I don't mean to be one of those "can we stop with the negativity" people, but can we stop with the negativity? At least for a couple of days or something?
-
I'm just sorry the season is over. It feels too soon!
-
Well worth a revisit - this is the survey marching members themselves did for DCI in 2010. http://www.dci.org/news/pdf/2010/2010_persona_factoids.pdf

So first it was Crown's world for us to live in, then Cavaliers, then Cadets, now BD. What a crazy season.
-
It's blasphemy I know, but in some ways En Fuego (1996) was better than La Danza Pasillo (1995).
-
I can't say why, but I dig the Bluecoats show this year in a way I never got into their show last summer.
-
Why electronics but not woodwinds? Read this electronics 2007 proposal and tell me you can't make the exact same arguments for WW's. http://www.dci.org/rules/pdf/2007/04_electronic_instruments06.pdf

I think my problem with BD's show is the same as I had with the Dance Derby one - it sounds like 11 1-minute shows stitched together.
