  2. Granny, Better have them check your meds,......(Important: 2011 Repertoires). Was in the Casper Tribune a couple of weeks ago. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
  3. Can't we all get along on this day of thanks????
  4. Troopers - "The Road Home" , featuring pieces by John Adams and Aaron Copeland. http://trib.com/news/local/article_b063533...25eddd4f9d.html
  5. Deep??? LeTour deep??? They were riding bikes. My 6 year old niece knew what they were doing,...wasn't too deep for her??? She enjoyed it right along with her "old" uncle.
  6. I was sitting in the halls waiting out the storm at Minneapolis this summer, and an elderly couple were sitting next to me on the floor. I asked them who they were there to see , if they had relatives performing , or connections to any drum corps. They told me that this was their first show and that they were absolutely amazed by the performances. They saw an ad for the show and decided to attend. We chatted for 20 minutes or so before the show was cancelled and I told them that it was too bad that they would not be able to see all of the corps. They asked where there might be more shows in the area this summer and I directed them to the DCI booth and website. The man was 84 years old and his wife was 82,....they said they had wished they knew about this activity years ago.
  7. Quarters had a few issues with the speakers , announcements and pit were very inaudible and fuzzy. Changes for the better must have been made with the curtains and settings for semis and finals,....there was a noticable improvement. There really needs to be something done with adding more LOS staff to man the entryways to the seats,...people walking in and out during performances, talking, sitting in seats that they don't have a ticket for. The guards on level 5 were moved to another section because they were having so many issues with fans coming in and outon the lower level. There needs to be someone at every entry to stop people from coming and going as they please.
  8. It was HOT!!!! and HUMID!!!!! Were you there????,...I am glad that the roof was closed,...not only for me as a fan, but also for the corps members. Give it a break,....if DCI and Lucas found it safe, economical, and for the good of the perceived audio enhancement, they will open the roof. I wish they would have had a roof at Minneapolis.
  9. Mike, I was just giving you a little jab over it,..I pretty much figured that was the reason for the hype on Lake Hohey Pokey. Don't take it personal,...your blogs are great!!!
  10. Hopefully you'll be dropping all the Lake Okonopee or vacation spot comments,...almost seemed like a travelogue than a drum corps blog.
  11. I have only seen the Troop on Fan Network,...very early and lots of holes. Any updates,...anyone that has seen them since live????
  12. 1) Blue Devils 2) Cadets 3) Crown 4) Bluecoats 5) Blue Stars 6) SCV 7) Cavaliers 8) Phantom 9) Boston 10) Blue Knights 11) Glassmen 12) Madison
  13. I think the color is actually a shade of blue/gray. Now that's funny, I don't care who you are!!!!!
  14. Can't wait to see them in the new uni's,....add a few guard,...clean it up, and see them in semi's for certain. I enjoy their show. Great job!!!!
  15. Hands down,... Cross to Cross, and, Z-Pull.
  16. Hey Zinger,...no need to apologize or explain your views. Anyone that likes Norwood Park Imperials is an expert about drum corps in my book. Loved them and Royal Airs both,....not too much for the skirted ones though. See you in MN.
  17. Well,...Martin there joined DCP today, and looks like he joined to rip into corps. What a fan. Too bad he got there late,...or was that on purpose. He seems like a real "Zing" Golly to me.
  18. Ding, Ding Ding!!!! I haven't read all the posts here,...but I see few if any that WERE at the show complaining about not having judges. Sounds like all the corps performed well and the crowd enjoyed them. I do find it a bit odd though that it was not advertised as an exhibition,....maybe it was and I'm not aware of that either???
  19. From pre-season chat,...and one review , I was expecting to be bored when the Glassmen took the field at Normal a few nights ago. Hardly the case!!!! I enjoyed their performance. Loved the horn line and the book. Hope the season bodes well for them, I wouldn't cross them or any corps off of any list.
  20. Well, that changes everything now. I was wondering why I felt like a bumbling idiot while I was watching them. Whether I was mad or not,...I liked the show without the explanation.
