  1. Captions: Brass=Crown, Percussion=SCV, Guard=BAC, Visual=Crown, GE=BD That's my Sunday delusion.
  2. The horse/gun, not the rider/saber is my prediction.
  3. You have confidence it was discussed with other Corps. They were "likely" onboard with the accommodation. DCI HQ "likely" did not make a rule bend decision. WHAT a crystal ball or network you must have! Yeah, I guess I'm a little more jaded on this and believe it was a "let's take care of" one of "our" signature member Corps. Nothing against Cav, unless they were lobbying for this schedule change. Crummy things happen to good people.......all.the.time. If it was a "favor", I'm not too comfortable with that. Everyone works hard to compete. Sometimes an injury puts you in a less competitive state. Does the "sport" give you a "head start"? Nope. We all take our lumps in life. And get back in the game. Fair and square. Schedule as announced/ruled. Let the judges do their job. Move on. Best of luck to all m.m.s

  5. One never forgets the site of their first Drum Corps show as spectator. Whitewater's Warhawk Stadium was it for me. [now Perkins]
  6. and a standstill tonight. Safety first. We can wait.
  7. The OP used the word "perform"..................I like that term, as it is audience-centered. I'll add to a nice list already suggested with PR 2010 Into The Light. Rennick's writing and the performance are for the eras.
  8. I found the link! http://marchingarenas.blogspot.com/2013/07/boylan-hs-rockford-il.html Remember when he did a bracket? Here's the thread from 2011 he started I KNEW I wasn't dreaming........
  9. Might be mis-remembering, but wasn't there a guy years back that did a VERY in-depth review of every stadium that hosted a show? He had several pics, aerial, etc. of each stadium and had commentary on seats, sight lines etc. Does anyone else recall this?
  10. He and I were born in the same town! Love all his works, especially as used by BK, Cav, Glassmen, Bloo, and Cadets.
  11. I feel like over my 45 years observing the activity that I do NOT misremember DCI past. I was genuinely thrilled by what was being produced on the field, a culmination of so many design elements and instruction and hard work. As a music educator of 40+ plus years IMO the design shift we currently observe IS fundamentally different, and each fan/consumer ultimately decides how that affects his/her show attendance and support. I, for one have decided that my usual shows are no longer worth attending this year. It's not a matter of finances, never was. I'm content to eagerly follow each corps' design, roll out, ST, competitive match-ups, season progress, and videos to get my fixes. But, the shift in design has eliminated my pre-existing desire to attend "no matter what". YMMV
  12. AND, as a first post. Nicely done. win.
  13. Me as well, to see result with Crossmen
  14. stirring my white russian, "well, that's like, just your opinion man"
  15. So what's everyone's predicted point spread for Crown> Cavies?
  16. wouldn't it be nice to have some spicy Latin in a show?
