  1. 1980 SCV with a close 1984 Suncoast Sound and 1990 Crossmen
  2. I was just surfing around and .... oh, I just won't go there ^0^ Update from the Cadets' Website http://www.yea.org/site/PageServer?pagenam...mpmovmayweb507b
  3. Cadets have listed in their website -- Milton High Schoo as housing.
  4. "Calling Michael Boo!!" :) This topic came up when DCI brought online Season Pass -- it comes down to two issues: Copyright (which is the main issue) & Demand. Watching the Ebay auctions has been interesting -- the values going up and up. Also, watching the DCA Video sets go up in value. With a trend of demand on eBay, hopefully it eliminates the issues of whether or not there is Demand for the product -- now it just comes down to Copyright approval. I would like what I would like to have is a high camera set of all the Champions pre 2000 And A set of the “13th” Corps – boy, there are some great shows through out the years – 27th Lancers, Florida Wave, Dutch Boy, etc. etc.
  5. Yes, everyone has to make their own assessment of descriptions and opinions on this board -- all those hidden meanings. Some of us who have been members of this board for many years – for me 2002 – really don’t have lots of time to post something every week, but look to this board for information and entertainment. The last posting is pure entertainment for me. Why is it entertaining? Maybe it’s one more pattern posting :P . Pot calling the Kettle Black? Look to He said, She said and the Little One said and you’ll find the answer. Did I just add an addition to my pattern and opinion?
  6. With the popularity of two of the 2006 Championships’ performances, I wish DCI would consider having a broadcast of the previous year’s Finals in February or March. How about name it --"Count down to a Champion?" :) Believe it wouldn’t hurt the DVD sales --DVDs would have been on sale for a few months, so I that would not be an issue. Even though I have a big screen TV at home with all the bells and whistles, it still would be cool to see finals on the BIG Screen.
  7. Alpharetta, GA Murfreesboro, TN Hopefully -- Pasadena, CA
  8. Taking my lunch break -- thinking about the 2007 season – I’m ready! Sorry if this has be discussed before ... Thought about the unique opportunity that The Santa Clara Vanguard and the Concord Blue Devils have this season – to win a World Championship in their regional/home state. With 2007 Championships located west of the Rockies for the first time ever, what do you folks think of the pressure it places on the two corps? Cavies have won a championship in the Midwest -- Madison. Cadets have won a championship in the Northeast -- Boston. Madison Scouts won a championship in the Midwest – Kansas City. I’m sure both corps views it as just another run for the title, but this is different – when will Championships be out west again? The off year in Indy? Thoughts?
  9. 'Overture to a New Era' -- Santa Clara made it a classic
  10. Classic moment of the Game -- the OSU Band playing a theme from "Titanic" and actually formed (drill) the ship sinking into the deep blue! Can you say -- Ironic! I was rolling in the floor! b**bs
  11. No Instant DVDs??? I was waiting to buy a couple -- hold me over until the real deal arrives at the end of the year. I purchase each year a Lapel Pin from each Corps -- when it's available -- Ok Crown folks, we've been waiting several years now -- have to say the best one this year is the Phantom Regiment 50th Anniversary Pin -- pretty cool.
  12. Totally agree -- to have the opportunity to experience Championship week seating 600 miles away in a theater is good enough for me. I will expect a better product when my DVDs arrive -- but for now, I'm thankful for last night and the live streaming tonight.
  13. An update from Forrest: http://www.drumcorpsminiatures.com/ The center photo of the two sets is from my curio -- great additions.
  14. Check out the North Star Set at http://www.drumcorpsminiatures.com/. The photo in the center is from my curio -- great additions to my collection. Welcome back Forrest! :)
  15. Here's the posting : April Gilligan's Dad passed a few days ago, He has been ill for some time .... We are so sorry. Joe was a great, great guy ... always there to help the Cadets and a great comfort to April. To Jackie --- I am so sorry! Come around .... we will keep you busy counting money :-) and to April -- what can I say. I know it is tough .... you have been there for me for so much. So many times .... so often. Thank you .... and ... well ... hang in there girl! My Lord. Is this in poor taste? Her family is in our thoughts and prayers.
  16. [so why all the hate? I say it's really quite simple. In an activity that isn't terribly large, where influence is held by a very small group of people, George Hopkins has wielded a ridiculous amount of power. And he has made it perfectly clear over the last ten or so years (certainly since 1999) that where the Cadets go, the rest of the activity is to follow. And many longtime drum corps fans are dealing with this tragic turn of events, this dumbing down and dilution of drum corps, the only way they know how. Am I wrong? I look forward to reading any responses on Hopkins's blog or here on DCP. From my experience with the activity -- Yes, you are wrong. Do really believe that George Hopkins has more influence over the drum corps activity more so than Jeff Fiedler or David Gibbs or ....???? You have your experience with Drum Corps, but do you understand the organization -- Drum Corps International? Check out this link -- http://www.dci.org/news/news.cfm?news_id=f...ec-258db77e80dd If you take a look at the video, yes, there is a political component within the organization, but that's apart of any organization. I have a good friend who is on the DCI board. Even though he often believes George's ideas are just out there, he honestly respects the man. Like my friend, I also respect George as well as all the division 1 Directors. For the time the Directors, the Staff and the members dedicate to an activity that I love and support each and every year, I appreciate their devotion.
  17. Great night in Hotlanta -- agree with how you called the contest. Fantastic Review! Thanks.
