  1. Looking for the elusive single ticket in a premium section for Friday's semifinals in Indianapolis. DM me if you have one to sell. Thank you!
  2. I very much agree. I wonder how the hornline numbers had to change with 20 tubas. I do want more sop voice.
  3. Blue Stars and Phillip Glass is such a great combination. I LOVE this show.
  4. Carolina Crown is a corps I'm comfortable recommending to kids interested in marching who aren't quite ready to do it at Southwind's level.
  5. For the next list: 2000 Blue Devils = PERFECT for running. What a friggin' sweet show.
  6. Check out Open Class corps Legends from Michigan My accoustical suggestion: Play loud and in tune with great tone quality
  7. Listen for how they distort the theme to Amazing Grace to start their show. Their musical selections aren't necessarily dark, but some may see darkness in how they are portrayed or even arranged (as in the case of Amazing Grace). I love BK's show this year and how they max out their unique marching style. I don't buy the premise that BK programs "dark" shows all the time either. Take a look back to when they did Bulgarian Women's Choir music. That show was bright and colorful. Instead of labeling BK as "dark", let's try "awesome".
  8. False. BK's show last night was fantastic. Their style and performance level was grrrrreat.
  9. While there may be scoring inconsistencies near the top of the competative spectrum, I do not think it compares to what happens to 11-21 place corps. There is nothing more frustrating than to march a great show, have your staff (and the crowd) confirm it, and drop three points when the scores are announced. Equally as frustrating is having the same score for an entire week, even when you know your corps has improved in strides. It's like drum corps pergatory. Scores and judging in the lower tier is inconsistent at best, even when there are remarkable differences between content and execution for corps in this tier. When many of the corps from 1-8 are performing at a similar level every night, lets not forget our friends in 12-21 who are improving soooo much every week, every night, only to be rewarded with dropping placements and stagnant scores.
  10. That is still my favorite Pioneer show. 2000...check it out if you are not familiar. It's almost like bein' in love.
