  1. Matt, I could have fallen on my sword when they unveiled those things in Cedarburg last year. The "roman" hat has to go. You have a sword....?? I'm jealous. Yeah, and you know that hard plastic can leave quite a mark. B)

  3. When I marched PIO they were in the yellow jackets. I thought the change to green was a good thing. I have to say I am less enthusiastic about the new look hat.
  4. I agree with all of the above. I went ahead an voted Bridgemen, though 27th was given equal consideration. Love them all.
  5. I always thought selections from Styx "Paradise Theatre" album would have made for a great show for just about any corps. That would be my starting point. Opener: Rockin' the Paradise Balad: The Best of Times Then into: Too Much Time on My Hands Closer: Reprise/Rockin'
  6. Two fellow bari's and myself had the same thing happen at Indy in '80. Yeah, that was pretty cool.
  7. Lynn Lindstrom. Saw 'em at DCI in Orlando last summer. They're doing fine. That's it. Funny thing is, the slow leak between my ears was fine when I left work this afternoon. I hopped in the car and Lynn popped into my head. Thanks Paul.
  8. Sorry Z...I just saw the link. I would have known 1, 4, 12, 13. George Lindstrom and his wife...her name escapes me right now... wow that slow leak keeps popping up... arranged our '79 drill. Then they hopped down and started out Memphis Blues.
  9. Being from Wisconsin, I'm going to have to say the best small town enviroment was Cedarburg, WI.
  10. I am somewhat guilty here as well Sue...only I was pulling for Spirit and that mind altering hornline. WOW!!! No doubt the most competitive finals I have personally witnessed.
  11. I have to go with Pioneer. The closer you get to the top, the less improvement you can possibly make. So, assuming we are talking about score or position, I think PIO is primed for a huge upgrade.
  12. The Guardsmen weren't bad either!!! Tiger of San Pedro...WOW.
  13. I have some very fond mmemories of the 1980 season. The Pioneer horn line took a large step backwards. The corps went back with us as a whole. However, I recall the WALL OF SOUND generated by the Spirit hornline that any brass player would certainly appreciate. The repertoire was outstanding. Of course, the Blue Devils were very crisp. The 27th Lancers were solid. To me, hands down the Bridgemen were the most entertaining with Spirit nipping on their heels. Absolutley great and competitive finals.
