  1. <--- Certainly not a troll, considering I have 100x the posts you do. Opinionated? #### yes. Troll? #### no.
  2. No, it USED to be a Top 12 Div. 1 drum corps. It is no longer that. It is a Band, minus woodwinds. And that's their right. If thats what they choose to enjoy, then more power to them. I will be at the hot dog stand, and I WON'T be buying any Cadets gear.
  3. All it took was hearing Crown ONCE last year, and I didn't like it, and I won't like it. I don't care if it's Crown, BAC, Cadets, Cavies, whoever. Amp'ed voice has no business being in drum corps. Its band. I don't wanna hear band, I wanna hear corps. If that's closed minded, well, then I'm closed minded. I know what I like, and what the Cadets are offering ain't it.
  4. What part of amp'ed vocals and narration has no business being in Drum Corps aren't you understanding? Now, my former favorite corps has decided to use amp'ed vocals. This along with amps in general, ruins drum corps. They may as well be BOA, IMO. I can accept Bb, but amps no.
  5. In this order: SCV 00 SCV 04 PR 03 Cavies 04 SCV 03
  6. Thanks for ruining what used to be my favorite corps, George. And to think I once wanted to march there.
  7. <nomex suit> I have no intention of listening to it. Amped Vocals have NO PLACE in Drum Corps. If you like it, that's fine, and you're entitled to your opinion. However, I do not like it, I will NEVER like it, and I hope DCI comes to their senses and gets rid of the rule. *edit for clarification, I liked BAC's 00 vocals* </nomex suit>
  8. I didn't like spin cycle at all. Don't get me wrong, they played it quite well. The whole show concept just escaped me, and didn't capture my attention.
  9. I sure hope so, because I'm sure in mode.
  10. While I voted SCV 04, we cannot be having this conversation without mentioning 2003 Phantom.
  11. You seem to forget Liz, um, announces her presence 5 minutes before she gets there.
  12. Oink! Flap! Oink! Flap! Oink! Flap! Well I'll be ######!
  13. Every year I marched the East Providence, RI, or the Kingston show was the night of DCI finals.
  14. Reading is VERY late this year, competing against West Haven. That'll pose some tough choices for those corps who traditionally schlep out Reading every year.
  15. That's fair enough. Lord knows we all need breats at times. :)
  16. Did ya ever wonder why DCA people are very quick to jump to the defense of their circuit? DCA has been constantly portrayed as beer drinking heathens who wouldn't know how to march their way out of a paper bag. This is unfair, especially over the last 10 years, as DCA has gone to great lengths to clean up and promote their product to a wider length. Have you given it a chance? Have you even seen DCA finals? Cabs 2003 Prelims Performance Watch it...tell me what you think. DCA corps do amazing things while rehearsing Friday nights, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. I don't think some members of DCI realize how much less time a DCA corps rehearses compared to a DCI corps. But you can watch. This show won DCA's in 2003. I'm proud to have been a member.
  17. If they don't care then that's their choice. But those who want to continue marching should be made aware that DCA exists and would welcome them, probably with open arms. DCA staff's are fully aware of the capabilities of any person who has aged out of a DCI Div 1 corps and would trip over themselves to get that person in their horn/drum/guard. But to make it sound like DCA shouldn't exist? Well, that's short sighted. And, if you want to see how much DCA means to me, I'll show you my ring, and how much I cherish it.
  18. On a sop, I found my Schilke 14A4A performed quite nicely. However, when we went to Bb, I had to have it drilled out, only because I felt I couldn't get enough air into the horn. Once that was done (professionally, of course) I was much happier. :)
