  1. OMG, you're kidding, right? I had NO idea.... I think colorguard unis should be clear and visible to the eye. If I'd seen them up close in live performance, video, and photos...and still can't tell what's up... then something's wrong. But thanks Stef for clearing that up.
  2. Here are some of what I liked and disliked... Liked/Loved... Cavaliers - Best thematic guard unis EVER Bluecoats - Loved how the tops changed with the silks...reminds me of one of Jennifo's guards Crown - Purple is the new black Glassmen - GREAT costume changes...and the top hats were so classy! I loved this guard. Blue Stars - VERY tasteful... love the flowing dresses in the girls Crossmen - Those tops should become the new corps jackets. Those were HOT! Disliked... Blue Devils - I loved the oversize collars (just like Cavaliers unis hah) but I didn't like the toilet paper sashes SCV - I think they were totally hot close-up, but they look sloppy from above Boston - Too much like their 2000 and 2003 unis. Get some new ideas, peeps! I loved last year's! Madison - Too busy, even though I dig the headpieces Colts - Too much like 99 Glassmen....and the addition of skirts made them look frumpy
  3. ARGH! I knew it! Curtis Costanza had Bluecoats 8th in guard... AGAIN! No one else had them scoring that low. He did it 3 times this season! UGH!
  4. From my DCI program 2006 :) "The "Spirit of Disney" Award erecognizes one outstanding drum corps in each division for it's ability to translate imagination into an educational and fun forum for all participants, to utilize new ideas and techniques, and to provide great entertainment value for the audience. While discipline and strict adherence to guidelines are essentaial for a sccessful drum performance, winners of the "Spirit of Disney" Award demonstrate more. Their performance also reveals the showmanship, creativity, and entertainment appeal of imaginative people. Because the name "Walt Disney" is synonymous with innovative and creative family entertainment of the highest quality, the "Spirit of Disney" Award challenges performers to refelct those standards as they reach for new heights in gaining a fuller awareness of the entertainment industry."
  5. So as of 1:26pm, 69 people have taken this poll. 42 people think The Cavaliers will win. 12 people think Blue Devils will win 15 people think Phantom Regiment will win. 26 people think Phantom Regiment will get the silver 26 people think Blue Devils will get the silver 17 people think The Cavaliers will get the silver 31 people think Blue Devils will get the bronze 28 people think Phantom Regiment will get the bronze 10 poeple think The Cavaliers will get the bronze Don't ask me why I did this... I guess I'm bored and waiting to go to Louisville for the Quarterfinals LIVE! ;) Every time I viewed this poll, I thought of it in this way. Hmm... interesting?
  6. There's already been a poll done on this.... HERE
  7. Yeah, but NOTHING compares to last year's sax winner! Wow, that dude was amazing! :P
  8. And in 1995 were GREAT! I think they are the only corps in the lower 6 of finals night to ever get a standing ovation from a ballad. Their version of "A Mightry Fortress" was EXCELLENT!!!! In fact, I don't know very many top 6 corps ever getting standing o's from a ballad. Anyone remember? I watched it the other day, and I had to rewind and re-watch it probably ten times. I couldn't get enough.
  9. Oh, I thought it was a reply to the post I had before you... is all. I agree that difficult drill does not always equal most effect, but... this year, the most difficult just happens to be the most effective.
  10. Puhlease tell me you are not talking about Phantom's drill as being the "most effective." Seriously! My biggest problem with their show is the drill. I think the fast moving drill in the ballad is very out of place... IMO it's the least effective drill in the top 6 as far as setting the drill to the music.
  11. Hey! Whatever works, right? I wasn't sure how big the hornline was this year for the Academy... and during the streaming video yesterday, I saw a line of contras moving....and moving and moving past the camera. I think they have 10. I was like "OMG!" haha.... There are at least 4 DCI Div I corps with less contas and a smaller hornline.
  12. Wait... do 6 people actually believe Phantom'd drill is the hardest in DCI 2006, or are they just blindly voting Phantom? Sometimes the answers of these polls crack me up!
  13. This is impossible, really.... when the 2nd place corps is already scoring a 94. The Academy is GREAT...and they will win. This is the best record in terms of time span in DCI history! ;) YAY!
  14. I don't think there is a dark horse to win. The Cavaliers will win. Phantom could pull off 2nd, but BD is still BD! Here are a few dark horses this weekend... SCV - could rise up to 5th or 4th. I'd prefer them 5th this year (so Bluecoats will be 4th HOPEFULLY) Madison - EVERYONE is counting them out, but this is their home turf. The show is difficult and the crowd is hungry for them to do well... do NOT count them out just yet!!! Colts - They were a few points out of finals recently, but they have closed the gap. Is it possible? MAYBE! Blue Stars - The beat a surging Capital REgiment are soooo close to Crossmen. It's practically their home show (150 miles away) and EVERYONE is gonna root for them. How could you not? This is a great show! Seattle - Have improved so much ove the course of this season. I think they actually have a real shot at semis.
