Having been an accredited teacher in LA Unified, I see this as being VERY difficult and highly unlikely to push through. Even if Ben is ready in time, who knows if/when the hiring freeze will end. As it is now, there are plans for more pink slips to eliminate more elementary school music positions. Like this year, teachers would be bumped by seniority, not by competency or position.
Unless you're already working from the inside to make this happen, I think you might run into a brick wall called "LA school site admin" whose favorite word when it comes to extra work starts with "N" and ends with "O".
