  1. I believe that all of them were mainstays in the color guard. Back Row L to R: Jeff Wroblewski, Brian Nash, Norman Dziedzic, Rich Maryanski Front Row L to R: Scott DeGrauwe, Dan McGuire, Greg Poznanski, John Van Dorpe Yep......and seven years later: (these guys are gonna kill me) Brian Nash is kneeling on the far left, behind him is Scott De Grauwe, to Scott's left is Rich Maryanski, to Rich's left is Jeff Wroblewski, the guy with his arm on Aldo's shoulder is Norm Dziedzic, and standing on the far right is John Van Dorpe.
  2. Ask any drummer about having to talk your Mom into going to the fabric store for some fake leather so that she could sew you a bag to hold the maracas, tambourine, claves or flex-a-tone that you played during the show. Also, that you needed two shower curtain hangers so you could hang the bag from your drum.
  3. Who remembers doing a parade, then having a few hours off to attend the carnival in your uniform pants and white t-shirt before the show??
  4. I can't wait to see what Bill Brasky's gonna do with the show this year.....
  5. How 'bout a 1974 MWCGC picture?? Can anybody identify these two??
  6. Q: Why are the Vikings purple?? A: You'd be purple too, if you'd been choking for 50 years.
  7. 1978 Cavalier Cadets practice. Mike Pratt, Steve Brubaker, Michael Lendabarker.
  8. You should start posting the pictures you got from Annie Mixdorf!!!
  9. I'll just cover the years I was around: 1975--After the Columbus 4th of July show, Andy Jacquart (Roundhead) punched the Great Root Bear in the head. 1976--Kilts' drum solo was "Linus and Lucy." Need I say more? 1977--Our contra line stole a flag and tymp and set up a buffet during retreat at the Wausau or Merrill show. 1978--I couldn't hear Pioneer's hornline on the field at the Oshkosh show, 'cuz of Spirit's hornline warming up a block away. 1979--Jim Schultz turns from the hornline arc, expels the remains of Puker '79 onto the ground, turns back and continues playing. Hard Core. 1980--Wow, Santa Clara.....7th place?? For reals? 1981--Free day in Boston's "Combat Zone." Need I say more? 1982--At the end of PR's show the guard threw these yellow plastic chains off the field. I forget where the show site was, but I remember it being REALLY windy, and the chains being blown back onto grounded tympani, with an awesome resulting din. Pure Dada. They should have kept it in the show. 1983-- *sigh*
  10. Marshalltown, IA's Eye-Openers, and their feeder corps the Winks.....
  11. IIRC, part of the deal for getting the Pearls was doing a clinic at the MBA band camp at Whitewater. On stage. Indoors. My ears are still ringing. Remember getting standing Os for warming up??
