  2. Hi Marrianne it is me Bea Gustafson

  3. Show starts at 5pm so watch how late you stop for dinner. Plus Reilly has food there also.
  4. I know the Rebels sold 90 tickets for our final performance. Last year there were alot of seats left.
  5. Thanks George. Somethings never remain the same. I will miss the preparations for the Stinger and the people that volunteered year after year. It was always the same crew. The average age of those volunteers besides Gus and I were in their late 70's. God Bless their dedication to the corps. And George I will not give my secrets up. No one can match what Dolores, Janet , Anita, Stan, Mary Catherine, Donna, Debbie and Donna Gentile,Betty, Cheryl, Kathy, Roe, Marge and myself cooked, served and with a southern smile. I learned alot from these wonderful people. Alot of love and dedication went into that food program. Great cooks and people. Love to all of them.
  6. I can't understand how it can remain the Dixie Stinger when the corps and the Alumni will not be running it. It will never be the same without all the great Yankee Rebels who gave their hearts and Souls running this show year after year. Phil and Dolores Gentile ran a great show for many years. Their family was the backbone of the whole corps. I for one will retire. The countless hours volunteered by many of the older members year after year. I hope they run it like the corps. Time will tell.
  7. We are still going to have our Chorus but I doubt we will be at the GAS in Boston this year. I know 2012 is in Gettysburg and we will hopefully be there if Trag wants to teach us.
  8. Great post honey. Thank you John for your kind words. Jimmy we loved having the Bridgemen and feeding your corps. Keep up the HYPE
  9. With sadness in my heart and tears in my eyes I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful words that describe the GREAT YANKEE REBELS. When Gus and I first got back together in 2002 he was with the Rebels and then went to march with the Cabs alumni. I missed the people of the Rebs they opened their hearts and souls to us.We came back in 2004 I have been here helping out the Rebels for the past 6 years and we are a family. Once you are a Rebel you remain a Rebel. The Southern Hospitality is remarkable. If you are at a Rebs function and you go away empty for friendship or food then something is wrong with you. The Rebels will be missed in the alumni movement but we still will have our Alumni association. We will still be at the GAS weekend and we will keep the memory alive. No one can ever replace the Great Yankee Rebels. Our 22 year run as a performing alumni corps has been great, but we want to go out with dignigty. Our oldest member is 85 and he was still marching playing cymbals and doing parades. His wife carried our banner. Members like this can not be replaced they just do no make them like this anymore. No junior corps today will be able to hold a candle to the corps and the friendships that make up the alumni corps as they are today. I must say I am proud to have been part of this Great Corps for the few short years I have been here. I have met some wonderful loving and giving people with this corps. I will miss the muscial part of the organization but the memory will live on thru pictures and videos and audio. Since Sunday I have felt like there was a death in our family and in a way it is. It just hurts but I know how hard it has been to run the corps and the Stinger every year. It was a lot of work and the man behind the scenes was Phil Gentile. What a great director and with his wife Dolores they made the Yankee Rebels. Many people worked witht t he Gentilies behind the scenes and I thank them for the wonderful years I have shared being part of the Yankee Rebels. To all past members or members now we do have an alumni organization that meets every 1st Wednesday at the Charles Evering post. Come out and join. If you need more info or live far away send me a message we keep up with emails and newsletters. LET US KEEP OUR MEMORY ALIVE AND OUR FRIENDSHIPS STRONG.LONG LIVE THE MEMORY OF THE GREAT YANKEE REBELS.
  10. Thanks for the info. It is already 100 here in the Baltimore area. I am in need of some drum corps music. See everyone there.
  11. Are we stuck on another picture here. I will check in next week and we will still be on this Cab picture. On the right side of picture is my Cherry Bomb friend. Oh and Carol you are so right us goodie two shoes Bon Bons like hard corps drum corps guys. LOL. I spent time on that blanket in the 70's. Some of us were born Rebels. Besides looking pretty and winning titles we marched hard with the best of the guy's. We will remain the Girls from Audubon until the end. Any one out there going to GAS next week?
  12. I found my badge and it is on my bag ready to go. All is good.
  13. I need to find my badge I had it at the Dixie Stinger proof in pictures. LOL. I will see everyone in PA. What is the dress for the breakfast casual or jeans or ??? Oh and what time does it start? I know I have many questions. Have a safe trip everyone.
  14. Great day in Baltimore on Saturday. The Dixie Stinger was a huge success due to all the hard working people who came together to put on the show. The weather, people and food was wonderful. Thank you for all the corps who performed and visited our wonderful kitchen. See you again next year.
