For me if Cadets are able to stay in 7th this year it is almost a victory. Design staffs are just too strong for the top 6. I would love to see a surprise and have Cadets get back into the top 6, but it's just hard to envision. All about staff now and the talent that follows them. Cadets need to get back in that game.

I have been thinking about this a lot this summer. The bottom line is that Cadets lost the staffing lottery/wars of the last 5 years..... Combine that with the GH fiasco, and you have the current situation. Now it will take about 5 years to get back if they can, and that will take certain actions and luck. It all starts with design staff...which leads to better recruiting. But right now Cadets aren't a destination corps anymore and its going to be a slow long road back unless they were to get certain staff, and that staff seems happy at the various places they are.

The judging in general is very interesting.....shows you how subjective it is, I mean look at Music Analysis. One Judge had Cadets over Boston, and another below BK. Reasons to just enjoy the shows......

Yeah who is M. Anderson? He REALLY doesn't like Cadets visual design. It's not the greatest, but geez.....

Guard has really cleaned. That is what stood out to me. Brass needs to really work Sensemaya......

As the infamous one always said, it just takes one judge making a call like GE1 last night to start a trend so we'll see. This is not a knock on the kids, but I can see where the GE judge is comimg from. The other corps integrate their props, move them around, change the staging numerous times. Cadets just sit there in one place and are so under utilized. Its rough bc there is soooo much hey could have done with them to convey the theme, but we just get one moment when the hornline spins around on them. Omce again, not a knock agaonst the kids. As usual, design issues.

BD's guard always impresses me, and reminds me why I love this activity!

My take it that it's a response to the off-season dramas.

Bloo makes you feel like you are at a huge theater. They create such a great stage that fits a drum corps so well and creates a unique environment. Then Crown comes out, and it looks so plain. Makes it obvious how Bloo has changed the game.

Good run.....solidly in 7th I would say. Need a new ending quickly IMHO.

For me it's the musical arrangements. Love it visually.

For various reasons (not just Amazing Grace) this Boston show reminds me of Angels and Demons. Not a bad thing!! Great Job BAC

Corps have all been wonderful so far tonight. Pet peeve - please put your heels together when you are in first position horn lines.....noticed from several corps.

True, the problem (well for Cadets) is that everyone seems happy where they are now, and are kind of settled into long term gigs with momentum for their corps, etc....Crown would be the exception I guess. We'll see.

They will have to get some big guns onto the visual and design staff to do that. Hopefully it will happen...
