  1. We would love to have you. I bet our moderate climate would provide a pleasant relief from those hot southern days. You could come up here for all days, and tour your way back to Texas
  2. Hey, I was wondering if there are any rules regarding amplification in a minicorps performance? :P
  3. Well Tom has an open invitation to come by, and we hope to see him sometime. I think they keep him plenty busy over at Los Palacio de Bingo.
  4. Pat! My favorite opinionated rectal orifice! How's the ticker? Man, I meant to call you when you got home from the hospital. I was thinking of you a lot those days. I don't think that we are even on Minne-corps' radar. At least that's what I'm counting on. I kid. I hope we can come. Please give all my best to your lovely wife and family. -Steve
  5. Yes, I believe that our membership will grow because our coordinators have the self control NOT to try and take over the members lives. We have to balance acheivement, and fun within a reasonable schedule. I think a sense of achievement was reached, and we did it with minimal commitment. And nearly no cost. And another one in Yakima, WA as well. A couple more corps and we can start our own circuit! Fun and manageable. Words to plan by. Ban the Burnout!
  6. Yeah, I think you are right. It just depends on how much you want it. For example, we went on 3 trips this year. The longest was almost 25 miles. We kicked butt. We ate chinese. It was great. You guys are very ambitious. I'm sure it was a very rewarding season. BTW, I went to your website, and took a look at your mardi gras photos, and there, to my suprise I find my good soprano blowin' friend Ron Phillips with a drink in his hands (the drink part was no suprise). You can find him on our home page as well. Small world. Ron is a drum corps NUT! b**bs b**bs b**bs b**bs Best Regards,
  7. Well, It just does not pencil out for us. 1. Our nearest competitor is a 16 hour drive away 2. There are only 3-4 shows in the NW, and our season would be 1 long weekend. 3. Our budget..................oh wait, we don't have one. 4. DCA is a long ways from here. It could be argued that the California corps have the same obsticles, but they also have a much larger potential member base than we could ever hope for. And they have each other as well. Speaking strictly for myself, I would love if over the course of several years our organization grew into a field unit. I think that for now we can be most successful with what I see as our current primary mission, which is this: To provide an oppurtunity for those individuals in the northwest who have benefitted from their drum corps experiences to reinvolve themselves in the activity. The Jr. activity is growing in the northwest right now. Maybe the future NW drumcorps vetrans will take our humble organization to new heights of competition. For now I think that we are doing well to bring a little drumcorps into our members busy lives. BTW, 2006 will be our 3rd annual undefeated season (a.k.a. the shortest drumcorps season in recorded history). We might also be in a position to form a successful minicorps too, so stay tuned................... B)
  8. Ain't no party like a west coast party cuz a west coast party don't stop! Isn't it cool how our drums match our firetruck?
  9. Sure! ^OO^ As soon as DCA creates a Parade Division. <**> Actually, we are talking about a minicorps. BTW, did anyone think to record the minicorps competition? If so, are the recordings availiable?
  10. That's our prima donna lead sop. We make him the dress point so he feels impotent.......I mean important. 2007? Heck, what about 2006?
  11. Yes. Loud. We were very loud. Our marching was pretty loud too. I don't remember where our '86 hornline ended up being ranked, but I do remember the pure joy I felt when 66 of us would "park it and market". '85 was a great line as well, but we had a fairly "backwoods" tour, and I don't think many people saw us. I am very proud of those years. The Marauders were looking like thay had a great future ahead of them at that point, but, like so many other corps, the adults mismanaged and misbehaved the corps into oblivion. They did manage to build themselves back into a contender in the early '90's with their pirate themed shows, but it seems that the grownups just had to mess with success again. Tragic.
  12. This is the Seattle Imperials. If you look carefully at the flags in the back, you will see the image of the guy from zig zag rolling papers.
