A Night of Magic Magic of Orlando Drum & Bugle Corps Saturday June 15th This will be the corps first performance of the 2002 season. There will be a Full Dress Field Show at 7:00 pm. There will also be a clinic for all area High School performers which will be held from 4:00-6:00pm. Brass: Ben Harloff (brass) Ben Harloff graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Trumpet Performance. While in school Ben performed with many Indiana orchestras. He started marching Drum Corps at age 12. In 1990 Ben joined the Star of Indiana and was with the organization through the years of Drum Corps--Brass Theater -- and Blast where he was one of the trumpet soloists. Ben joined Magic of Orlando for the 2002 season and is the trumpet tech on the brass staff. Percussion: Tom Hurst (percussion) Tom started his marching career in 1985 with the Florida Wave as a snare drummer. Then finished marching in 1988 with Suncoast Sound. Attended University of North Florida to study Jazz. Has performed on Cruise ships and with Sister Hazel, Back Street Boys and Stan Lynch from Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers. Returns this year to Magic of Orlando after teaching here in 1990 and 91. Color Guard: Michelle Ownes (colorguard) Michelle joins Magic of Orlando after several years with the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps. Michelle was a marching member of the Crossmen and the last few years taught on staff. She has taught numerous color and winter guards throughout the Northeast.
