  1. Fascinating discussion about the sit down. I had never heard a lot of the background before. So we have the '66 Reveries, the 27th Lancers, the 83-85 Garfield Cadets and 91-93 Star all bing mentioned prominently in this thread. Anyone else see a pattern here?
  2. Very well done...but will it make you want to go to Indy?
  3. I thought the obvious and easy answer was SCV. I remember the disappointment when the Blue Stars dropped out of the Top 12 the first time.
  4. '77 for sentimental reasons, not to take away from '80 or '92 which were fine shows.
  5. An album which I own. In the drum corps world my vote goes to Scouts '80.
  6. Spirit '80 and it's not even really fair to compare today's lines. A fun side note for all us old timers... We were on tour in '80 and managed to time the hit after the arc's rotated so that we were on the 50 on the walkway between the upper and lower decks in Allentown. Our body cavities vibrated.
  7. I have a 2v Deg Alto in excellent condition if you are interested. No mouthpiece or case.
  8. Most Famous can have a lot of meanings. In that light, I'll nominate 3 more for consideration: '76 Bridgemen '80 Spirit '92 VK
  9. Just the 2 corps...sorry.

  11. Bayonne with the late 70's instructional staff, Jim Jordan as DM and Jim Brady as the soloist.
  12. That could be argued about practically all internet chat rooms, regardless of subject matter.
  13. If I say I'm leaving in a forest and no one hears me, then am I really leaving?
  14. That's the question for us long time participants and fans. Adding woodwinds no longer makes the activity unique in my eyes. I for one will leave.
  15. Not sure what the problem is. If you are on staff or drawing any kind of compensation, you should be required to submit to a CORI. And if you don't, then that tells us something.
  16. If the shows are not well attended or not well received, the ideas driving the G7 will die a quick death. If the shows are well attended or the "experiments" well received either they will have proved their point and all of DCI will move in their direction or DCI will choose not to move in their direction and some or all of the G7 will leave and form their own circuit.
  17. ...and I'll raise that "amen" to an AMEN!!!!! To see that unfold and spread across the field with perfect interval and a horn sound that was unique up until that time......not enough words.
  18. He wrote our drill in '80. Brought 4 of his students from UMASS to march with us including one who became our drum major for that year. His enthusiasm and dedication were infectious. RIP Mr. Parks you honor us all.
