Colts are really good. I see how they now separated them from Madison. They have a top 12 quality show.

It’s 530 on the left coast so perfect for out west.

It todays Drum corp if you beat BD...you're DCI Champs. SCV will probably win and they deserve it if they do. But they put their staff together just to do that. I know a few SCV alums and they were tired of years not beating BD. And one thing about SCV alums they have a voice.

Staff turn around happened in 1994. And 2003 when Scott Chandler became program coordinator. 2005 is still a mystery why that show was not successful in BD standards. Maybe the Euro Tour has a bit to do with that. And in 1991 great brass but the percussion went thru major changes with Tom Float leaving in 1991.

On thing since 1994 and probably ever....be great in every single scoring caption. Not necessarily win it but be near the top. That's why they've won 18 rings and top 4 ALL but once since 1975. That lone 5th place in 1991.

George I admire your love for the Cadets. They are your bread and butter Corp. I guess I was surprised by the post I responded to basically saying have you’ve seen a better Cadets drum line and I have. Early to mid 2000’s they were the drum line to beat winning three drum titles in a row. There are very good but so is 7 others.

Actually they aren't "right there". 7th in percussion out of 8 corps at NightBeat. And 8th in perc. at Atlanta. I don't call that being right there.......sorry.

Big bump for the top corps since Atlanta. Madison not so much and troopers actually went down. Me thinks SCVC and BDB will pass them come quarters.

It’s kinda sad in today’s drum corps that corps are kinda loosing their visual identity like Madison. To me the Scouts had that look. That Madison Scouts look. I don’t see it at all. It comes down to progress is great for some and not for all.

There are two Open Class corps from California that have the show to knock them further below and they have the shows to do it.

Excited to see how the Mandarins score against Phantom. If they do place above PR...that would be huge. Beating a past DCI World champion is big for a corp like Mandarins.

Probably because unlike years ago a lot of the shows or clips are now available on YouTube including recent shows which I'm so grateful that people are willing to do this and take the time to post it. Makes us on the West Coast very appreciative.

Dark is good but not needed to be powerful and graceful. Depends on the context. 2003 and 2007 come to mind. Powerful and executed very well. Great brass sounds especially in 2007. One of my fav. PR shows.

NO. Corps should be pushing for the final spots.

Probably why Pioneer is in WC. They are ALWAYS at the end of the WC scoring and will place lower during finals week to half of OC corps. But they still choose to remain in World. And for a reason...$$$$.

I get what you are saying. Nothing against WGI but these shows are VERY WGI in the way they are performed. Body movement....that voicing that you see in WGI shows. There is no actual great brass showcase. It's all mic'd and hollow sounding. I wanna hear great brass sounds. It's all mic'd.

SCV is gonna win. Hands down they have that total package. I saw that at Standford. They will go unbeaten and the real competition is from 2-4th. Yes...SCV is just that much better. And they deserve it.
