Well, I paid my Flo subscription, can see it on my bank account, yet when i log in it says i have no subscription. Feeling duped.

Does anyone else find it incredible that Bloo has almost 90,0000 views of their 2016 music announcement on FB in roughly 24 hours?

It is beyond my comprehension why she would be selected to judge finals at this point in her career. She has contributed immensely to the activity but it's time to move on.

The reality is we're trying to force a quantitative score on something using completely qualitative criteria. Name me one other competitive activity that does this outside of the music realm. Every year we get frustrated when it happens and act surprised. When 3-5 corps are as close as they are and presenting completely different artistic programs, do we really expect humans to rationally seperate them using a number system? Ask 10 experts in a blind test who has more GE, BD or bloo and you'll get 10 different opinions. However, it's not blind so the judges, who are supposed to be the experts, can only rely on what is supposed to happen because in reality they can't be differentiated. In other words, we can't really tell which is better so we rely on our historical perspective until something is overwhelming to convince us otherwise. Maybe ice skating has a better approach which incorporates but compulsory requirements and artistic ones. Having said all that, nothing will really change and with regard to judging and I'll continue to watch all the great programs. And leave before scores are announced.

They're not a few hundred miles away, they're a few mouse clicks away, and many judges will find what other judges are giving on the same night relevant as we move forward. If it weren't true, then why would rankings usually hold true when everyone gets together? The whole different show different judges argument isn't as true as it used to be.

Many years ago I agree with the concept of different show different judges. However, with today's various forms of communication and information sharing, scores at different shows become relevant. Consequently, with Bloo and SCV scoring 2-3 points below BD and Cadets, it's likely that the mid season ordinals are already set. Judges pay attention to which judges are giving what scores, and most of the time they will at least respect that persons opinion in giving a score unless there is an overwhelming reason not to. Having said that, it doesn't mean things can't change after San Antonio. Not saying I agree with this, I just think it's a fact of the activity now.

No, I definitely would not. Old school was good for its time, but today I much prefer the modern activity.

While I understand your point of view, I think you're underestimating the power of their current creative staff, which was different in 2014 and will carry forward.

More often than not more is more.

Cadets are amazingly clean, championship caliber. The program just doesn't take me anywhere, it feels very mechanical. I want to feel proud to be American bit it never gets me quite there. All I feel is "they're really good" but no emotion beyond that.

Agreed it isn't an age issue exactly, but those that promoted an approach to GE that became completely disconnected from the fan base tend to be older. One particular individual exemplifies this. That's how we ended up with Championship shows where an average fan (which we are not) just watches with no particular response.

I couldn't help but respond. I didn't mean to start a philosophical debate. A) As some have said, just because so and so wore this or wore that doesn't make it right. B) Just because it reinforces the show theme doesn't make it right. Last, I don't think what they wear is the issue, it's what they do and what they are communicating. If you are okay with it, that's your prerogative. If you understand what the issue is, then you don't need to be convinced.

In my circle of fans, several have stated they find BDs color guard offensive- more akin to an NFL cheerleader squad than a color guard. Just wondering how others feel about this topic,

The only thing Crown has done that has pushed the activity in a particular direction is the nature of horn line books. They pushed the envelope for what horn lines are capable of, and for me that's an awesome thing. "Back in the Day" discussions are getting very old.
