  1. I hope there is someone following them around explaining the uniform to me, cause i don't think that I will get it on my own.....
  2. Which is exactly what I did, I regret to say. I put my donation dollars into a different corps. Not that my donations make a huge dent really, but If i am not really in their "target market" anymore, I can donate to someone who is not trying to fuse the entire world together one narrated drum corps show at a time. Doesn't mean that I don't think that every single one of those kids are just kick ###. 2007 Cadets were the best corps last year.
  3. "I think you better check your tone at the door!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"
  4. All I want to do is watch the crossmen's 2007 program last year.....it was on Encorps Video....where do I find it now?!?!?!?!
  5. I think that voice sound byte comes from the old school Trooper DVD "The troopers are coming" produced way back when.... And he is saying that the "Troopers in name and appearance, represent what America was--the people who came in covered wagons, lived in clay huts, ......, and made peace with the indians."
  6. lamest lame lamety lame loser lame sack of lame law suit of lameness lame. lame. lame.
  7. "When I was in HIgh School, I didn't fit in" "GO TELL IT TO OPRAH!!" Cadets QF 2007. Good thing they changed it for finals night.... and good thing they are hiring a play write this year.
  8. You are all right in the assessment of my lame comments about the Utah Jazz Drumline...... I really shouldn't be expecting perfection from a gig who practices once or twice a week at most.....especially since it is not a DCI week kind of thing.... But why would the BD organization be proud of putting an unacceptable presentation out on the floor--that someone has payed for nontheless? And to refute the fact that most fans find it entertaining---it just was not the case--seriously a real snoozer. I could have sloshed a turd in a bucket and gotten more applause. I compare it to the Detroit gig that someone wrote about, and they were not loud, not clean, and especially not energetic. I do see the point of me being a jerk and judging them too harshly on their performance, but knowing that they ARE BEING PAID to do what they are doing doesn't really help my opinion of them (unless someone can tell me otherwise--cause i will feel really bad if all they are getting is a hot dog and a coke). We can all say what we want, and i enjoy the discussion, but i know what i saw, and so do the other 20,000 people who were there. Yawner. at least there is always the NSJD..... http://www.nba.com/jazz/dance/Meet_the_200...zz_Dancers.html
  9. Dirty Dirty Dirt. They honestly looked like a bunch of guys they took off the street who liked to hit things with sticks. There was no significant rythm and I don't think that even Jerry Sloan could have beat a down beat into them. I honestly felt like I was watching a really really really bad high school---make that Junior HIgh School drum line............. At one performance, I turned to my converted-to-drum-corps-freak brother and he just shook his head and said "That wasn't even close to anything that I saw at DCI last year" and went on to explain drum corps to his working associate there with him and how "real drum lines" don't suck this bad. Maybe they are better now. Who knows? I haven't been to a game for a few weeks. I was just surprised to see that BDE was involved or is involved with them now. BUT if the way this drum is playing is somehow linked to the Jazz winning, then they can suck all they want. GO JAZZ!!!!
  10. I read in that article that BDE is the group behind the Utah Jazz drum line........ If they are getting money for the performances that I have seen them do, BDE should be ashamed. Not good at all.
  11. Your Mom. Seriously, though. If your mom didn't come on tour, these corps would be nothin. though i do give props to two turntables and a microphone.....thats where its at.
  12. The park and blow leading into that chord was pretty sweet too.....great show that year.
  13. Can i just throw a 'Mike Stevens is the shiz-nit' out there? Cause he is. Brilliant instructor.
  14. When did drum corps start reproducing asexually? Is that in the rule changes for next year? cause i see 50 people all of a sudden multiply off of one, and it while the effect is stunning, I don't know how we are going to amp that.....
  15. Awesome!! Now there is a 'ginormous' screen for any corps director to showcase himself with a bow to his adoring fans!!!!
  16. Is there any good music from 'Cinderella Man' that could be used? And I am all about Mike Tysons Punch out--I have always thougt nintendo music was the best music ever. Especially when little mac would go training with Doc after you fought three fights..and ....and...I need to get a life. I look forward to it. Coats were awesome in 2007. My drum corps virgin girlfriend fell in lov with them on finals night and booed (not blued) when they didn't take first. I didn't even bother explaining anything about it t her........ though talk about an accesible show. It was great.
  17. That was freakin hillarious. I am currently looking for employment in Indianapolis for ....the next ten years or so.....A man has to set his priorities straight you know.
  18. I had a moment watching the Seattle Cascades in 2006. I watched what I thought was a disaster in Denver, turn out to be a really beautiful miracle by finals. This year, (though i must throw in my abhoration for the narration....hey that rhymed) the Cadets first big hit in the opener makes me sexually frisky. This is of course a figure of speech, but i am just trying to prove a point that it was that good. And beyond that, Every single corps continues to blow me away with their talent each year. And then there must be an honorable mention for the Purple Lancers from back in the day.
  19. I went to a different corps after 2 years with another. The first corps I joined with other friends who were rookies with me, the other I went to on my own without knowing anyone. That was the hardest part. Going somewhere where NOBODY knew me. I also think that it is the 'family' aspect that keeps so many people in the corps they love. I love them both the same. I do not regret my decision. Bluecoats 07 was awesome.
  20. This was an incredible year for hornlines indeed. I think that the Cadets had the biggest loudest hornline overall (I will pay $100 to anyone who can get me a high quality August recording of their whole show without the voice--better yet, that would be a good fundraising idea for the YEA crew....), though i don't think that there has ever been a year where the quality has been so high and the performances so great in so many corps. I am still blown away that Bluecoats placed where they did....but out of those that placed ahead of them, could you honestly say who deserved to place below them--or vice versa had Crown finished in their place? Tough year to be a judge. I am blown away at the productions that are coming to the field every year, and the hornlines are no exception at all. Thanks to everyone for a killer season.
  21. I would have understood this all had they told it to me during the entire production like a real corps of the future would kindly do for me..... (that was not intended to be taken serious in any way at all) BUT THIS IS: This show could have been one of my favorite shows this year. I am addicted to the crossmen. I have loved every show that they have put on the field every year i have been involved in the activity. This one has a few moments where it seriously brought tears to my eyes. and the ballad was so yummy..... I love the Crossmen. I love the Crossmen. I love the Crossmen. And not just for the music, but for taking young bucks and making them into men and women of great charachter. I think they need some of my money. I will now thank George Hopkins for creating the Jazz club so that i can donate to them.
