  1. I thought you were just using that Wal Mart thing as a figure of speech. I just got back from Wal Mart and as I was leaving, I noticed that they were selling trumpets. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> haha, i work at a cell phone kiosk inside sams club, and I noticed last week that they started selling trumpets, clarinets, flutes, and saxamaphones. haha the clarinet actually looks like its good quality, its wooden, not plastic (Im not a woodwind player so i dont know if thats actually better, i would think though, i thought the professional clarinet models were made out of wood..) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL, my wife and I went to K-Mart last week to pick up a new phone. K-Mart now has trumpets and clainets for sale for under $200. All the instruments were still in the box so I couldn't take a good look at them. Funniest part was that they were for sale in the electonics section right next to the music CDs. OK, everyone make your electronics and amps jokes now.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> HAHAHA! over here they are RIGHT NEXT to the keyboards, across from the phones and stereos, sam isle as CD-R's and that type of stuff!

  3. i have the same problem yet my private teacher tells me that my main problem is my lack of air. my lung capacity isnt the greatest :(. Im doin all sorts of things to fix that. Also im a dry player, and sometimes the mouthpiece starts to get wet and it just screws me, but thats especially in marching band or corps when the horn angle is up and it all comes back down to the mouthpiece....
  4. "the best improved of the night" . I think he meant the most improved, not THE best. here is my (very concise) take on the show. first off, it was just weird being in belding. this was my corps rehearsal place for most of the summer last year, and our homeshow. Kind of a weird feeling, being there again but no sign of my corps :(... anyway the show was delayed for like an hour. the announcer guy tried to keep everyone entertained by telling bad jokes. but they were so bad it was funny. Marion Cadets- Opener....HOLY COW!! Their hornline put out some sound, and it was very exciting. They only have one guard girl that didnt do any work right now, but i dont think thats a huge problem, im sure they will get atleast one more, and when they get the work out, it wont be such a big deal that they only have 2, or a few more. Didn't they win the guard caption in 01 with two guard??? Oh and their drumline is the same size or bigger than their hornline...but that hornline can throw down, so the drumline didnt really overbalance them. Pioneer- they sound ALOT better. Its just too bad it was only a standstill. Kiwanis Kavaliers- I think i liked the show better than last years. Soutwind- I LOVED the brass book. the kids are being challenged by their program (and i didnt even see it on the move) but that is a good thing. They handle it very well. The pit and drumline were SWEET. Southwind had quite a bit of cheering moments in their show. Capital Regiment- out in shorts , they looked cold. Well, the first thing I notice, it feels like they are a COMPLETELY different corps from the Division 2 days. I loved these guys when they were in div 2, very emotional corps, one of my favorites. Now they are probably better than they ever were, but.....it just doesnt feel the same. but they defanitely did a great job, improved from last year ALOT! Bluecoats- what can i say? Their show was sweeeeeeeeet. it opens with a drum solo, and the hornline was LOUD. Ride was my favorite movement from their show... their is a sweet screaming trumpet duet, and one of the guys was only 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY MELLOPHONES BATMAN!! they had a sweet run on the end of Ride. Fly Away is beautiful. Bluecoats were my favorite of the night. Cadets- they were good, as expected. They were the only corps besides marion to attempt marching. The crowd was happy about that. But it didnt seem like they moved around very much. Which isnt always bad, look at phantom last year :) .However, i dont think the music alone is going to win it for them. They had a baton thrower, tossed VERY high. I just think after the first 3 tosses it started loosing the effect though. I heard someone in the audience say "haha, spartan marching band!"......that didnt make me too happy. But they did a good job overall, and their drumline...........is CADETS drumline, aka amazing! Well, the show could have been better if it didnt rain cats dogs and chickens. but seeing drumcorps again made me happy, i dont care if i got soaked and am now very sick. hehe. (p.s. my first review, dont shoot me please!! :( )
