  1. I can hear their feet (when they're moving). I think Cadets sounded better. Just my O.
  2. But in late July? Shouldn't be happening this late in the season.
  3. How the heck did you get that to work? I tried it and I get missing plugin symbol.
  4. Looks like the multicam is fixed. Maybe the video editor was on a bathroom break.
  5. I can't wear my jacket. It's the Bluecoats early 90s baby blue with satiny sheen. Sorta dorky looking anyway and when it's 90 degrees outside it just look outright stupid. The exception is that I have and would still wear it to finals if it's a cool evening (it still fits!). I wish they would make a tasteful alumni jacket. Now that, I would wear casually.
  6. I have been pretty tough on Bluecoats' design so far this season. This was based on two viewings on FN. I saw them live for the first time last night in Hattiesburg and I have to say that seeing them live has changed my opinion. The theme aspect of the design is really not bad. The problem is that it doesn't come across very well through FN. So my apologies to the design staff at Bluecoats. I was wrong. As far as drill [design] goes, my impression from FN was that I didn't care for it, but I was sitting low at the show so I'll reserve judgment on that for now. Overall, I really like their program now. I was already a fan of the music and I think they play and move well. I just thought that the concept was too far out, but it was really a matter of me being disconnected from the experience.
  7. I would say the theme was minimalism which is sort of contradictory though I suppose.
  8. Well technically, Lucas is not a dome. It's got a retractable roof. I don't know to what extent that makes a difference in the acoustics. I also thought that I had read that DCI/BOA had some input into the construction of the stadium for acoustics but I can't reference that. Was BOA held there last fall? If anyone on the forum was there, could you comment on the acoustics?
  9. Phantom played Dvork #9 (made my night), Ave Maria, 1812.
  10. Yes - they all got in the weeds, so to speak, but alot of the stuff they talked about ALSO come across on the field. The problem is not with obscurity of details, the problem is when your whole design concept is so obtuse that no one understands any of it. That's great if you understand all of the obscurity and subtleties. But in the case of Bluecoats show, I don't know anyone who claims they understood it. That's a design problem. Maybe they'll make changes to make it more accessable, but it's pretty late in the game right now. We'll have to be satisfied with a good performance of some good music instead of a good entire package.
  11. Mellos went to 3 valve Kanstuls in 92. I think sops switched in 93, but I'm not positive.
  12. Columbia High School on Hwy 98 west of Hattiesburg.
  13. The commentary "kicked ### - oops - I mean kicked butt." Rondo: "It's ok - it's the internet - you can saw whatever you want here." <- That comment had me rolling! My favorite unhelpful comment was (can't remember which corps): Rondo: "Tell us about what we're about to see" Commentator: "You're about to see our 2009 program" <crickets chirping> Rondo: "Tell us about the program"
  14. And hope my tickets come in the mail before the show! Haven't gotten them yet!
  15. As for voting favorites and least favorites - it's not true for me. I voted Bluecoats for worst design and I am an alum. I think what happed with their design is that they wanted a more "cerebral" show than usual and came up with this imagine idea. But it's like they tried too hard and went overboard. I suspect that what they came up with may have sounded good on paper but just doesn't translate to the field. If you followed the commentary on Saturday, you know the commentator started talking at the beginning and didn't take another breath during the entire show. There were so many abstract and subtle things in the show that no one could possible pick up even half the stuff he was talking about. I love the Coats, but they just failed on design this year which is too bad because they've got great music and great performers.
  16. It's officially superstition for me now. So yeah.... The shirt will be donned. I'm not even gonna wash it.
  17. I would just like to take this opportunity to take full credit for Troop making top 12. While in my closet this morning as I was choosing my attire for the day, destiny was calling as I reached in and pulled out my Troop tshirt. The power of my shirt traveled several hundred miles to the southwest to propel Americas Corps to victory tonight!!! Congrats Troopers!!! Keep up the good work!
  18. She is soooo 2008. Meet Miss Mississippi 2009 (center)...
  19. My cousin just won Miss Mississippi! On to Vegas for Miss America! Heh! Sorry - just had to brag a little. Back to your regularly scheduled program. :)
  20. Go Troop! I wore my Troopers T-shirt today for some hype!
  21. Does anyone know if the commentary stream will be available as VOD?
