  1. If FEMA and the Red Cross are turning them down, they should try the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is feeding large masses of people at their makeshift shelters, corps-style, at least from some of the news pictures in this area, so they might appreciate the mobile kitchens. I wouldn't just give up on the first "no" . . . I've been tailoring my donations to these organizations accordingly, too. For the Red Cross, I'm donating the household-sized cans, and for the Salvation Army, I'm donating the #10 cans, as they seem to be serving different needs. I could be wrong, but that's what I've seen on tv in the reports. Another idea is to try Mississippi. From what I can see Mississippi is desperate for help, as they aren't getting as much media coverage as N.O. is getting, and they aren't under water . . . they are just totally decimated. They also aren't giving the help they're getting as hard of a time with red tape. Got to dig to get to the right source of need because it is out there!
  2. No full retreats at the 10+ shows that we attended this summer, including both locals and regionals. We really, really missed that rush you get hearing the full corps at the end. Yes, there were 2 corps each time in an arc playing the same finale, but it just wasn't the same as a couple hundred horns going full-blast at once. You didn't get goosebumps . . . I understand doing that scaled-down finale for the smaller, high school venues. But, if they change anything this next year, I hope they add the big finales back in, at least at the regional shows. Please????? I heard that sentiment expressed by many people sitting around me in the stands, no matter where we were . . . Orlando, San Antonio, Allentown, Newark, Louisville. It just wasn't the same without it. It's rough when you only get to experience it once a year.
  3. I have 3 available in Section K, row 31 for Friday night only. I might be able to give up a 4th ticket as my husband is the videographer for Spirit, so he actually has a staff pass which would let him in without a ticket . . . but he has no seat . . . So, I might be able to give a 4th ticket up. Do you still need those tix?
  4. Help me out . . . where's that? (where you moved this post) I do not post on here often (not much free time), so I don't know about all the possible places to post things. Sorry about that & please tell me where I'll find my post so I can check to see if someone wants the tix. Thank you!
  5. Hi, I have 3 tickets available for sale for the Allentown show. I will sell them for the face value, $25. My daughter's relatives (she's in Spirit's guard) have bailed on me for the second year in a row and I'm now stuck with the tickets, as I know no one else locally up there to buy them. (It's the "ex"-family and they don't understand drum corps, so they have no appreciation for it.) The seats are in a good location: Section K, Row 31 and our family is going to be in the same location using the other tickets I purchased. Please feel free to respond if you are interested and we can make payment/mailing arrangements. You do not need to purchase all 3 tickets, as I would rather get something back for them than nothing but, of course, I'd love to sell all 3. Thank you!
