Andy; I can't speak for Bassick,or Harding, but at Central, Mr. Marsuiili didn't want Drum Corps people in his band. A nice guy until he found out you marced M&M. In 1960, I started out in the PAL Marching Band just so I could play 1st alto sax in their 22 piece Dance Band. After 1 year I couldn't stand the marching band and left for the Scarlet Knights. You may be in for a surprise. When the Park City Pride held it's first get together, we expected about 100 people....200 showed up, people from out of state & out of the country sent Emails that they would participate and learned the music over the internet and actually flew in for the Spring Sunday Camps....even from Amsterdam.They even wore their wooden shoes at practice when they came. 99 days later we fielded a Corps of 233 and stole the show.Check out these two sites. If you want to see some Alumni Corps on Nov 17th in Plymouth,MA there is a huge parade and a concert in the Old Meeting Hall (not Free & may be sold out) Sat night. You can see the corps warm up outside( drum lines), and in the warm up hall across the street for free. Good Luck! Sorry, but I have to agree with Andy "It's your turn to buy" Lisko. I really doubt that Moe "made a living" with his photos. Covering expenses and travel costs probably ate up most of what he earned. I agree. To HAVE to applaud everyone (good or bad) would be like going to a soccer or baseball league that doesn't keep score so that no one has to deal with losing. The world is full of losers. Those that learn from it become stronger. This is how we become winners. To be a winner we learn focus, dedication, and teamwork. We practice, we sweat ,we bond. We become family. If I don't enjoy a Corps show or performance. I will NOT wildly clap for them. I will politely clap for their effort, but the Corps is entitled to an HONEST evaluation.
