  1. One of the "scariest" repertoires in DCI history came in 1972, when the Wayne (NJ) Monarchs played: Witches Call, March to the Scaffold, Soul Sacrifice, Evil Ways, Evil of Eternity and Lullaby From Rosemary's Baby.
  2. You'll see some of it here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/13841612354/posts/10163046504517355/
  3. You can see them here: http://www.dcxmuseum.org/assets/06 - 80 Years of Drum and Bugle Corps Sores.pdf
  4. Yes....I was just going to say 1988 Blue Devils won everything prior to DCI Championship weekend.
  5. There was an entertaining appearance by Saints Brigade Drum & Bugle Corps in that parade in 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgKpnoFuOio
  6. Anaheim Kingsmen were 3rd at DCI in 1974, didn't tour the following season.... just did a few exhibitions.
  7. Ames Field has been the scene of drum corps contests going back to the 1950s, and it was home to the DCI Open Class Championships for a number of years. This happened last Thursday night: https://wsbt.com/news/local/man-killed-when-car-crashes-into-ames-field-in-michigan-city
  8. Those were Steve Vickers-Drum Corps World publications. His dedication to such projects has been huge. https://www.drumcorpsworld.com/product-category/history-books/
  9. Well.....we can't say EVER.....there was the 1969 VFW Nationals.....Boston--5th place 87.35, Santa Clara--14th place 84.05.
  10. The 1974 Mariners opened their show by shooting off fireworks as a lead in to the 1812 Overture.
  11. Or....in the case of the 12th place Guardsmen at the 1976 championship.....lower than the 21st place corps at prelims.
  12. Wishing you all the best. You and I have been on DCP for quite some time, and I've always appreciated your posts!
  13. I have a 1974 SCV shirt that Gail Royer sent to me early in '75. I have the 1977 Blue Devils triple crown shirt, celebrating their 1976 "triple crown" wins at World Open, CYO and DCI. I inherited a couple shirts from the 1969-70 years of the Troopers and Kilties. 1980 27th Lancers, and a couple dozen from the 1980s/early 1990s.
  14. They're expecting 110° for Broken Arrow on Tuesday!
