  1. After seeing the Blue Stars and Crossmen compete neck and neck with eachother all season this year, I began to wonder which corps might be in that same situation next season where they are right next to each other in terms of scoring and placement. My tight grouping predictions for next season are the following: Blue Devils v.s. Santa Clara Vanguard Santa Clara Vanguard v.s. Carolina Crown Bluecoats v.s. Cavailers Cadets v.s. Blue Knights Phantom Regiment v.s. Blue Knights Blue Stars v.s. Crossmen Madison Scouts v.s. Mandarins Troopers v.s. Colts Blue Devils B v.s. Vanguard Cadets Gold v.s. Golden Empire Seattle Cascades v.s. Jersey Surf Jersey Surf v.s. Pioneer Music City v.s. Genesis Battalion v.s. Columbians Impulse v.s. Shadow Shadow v.s. River City Rhythm Les Stentors v.s. Impulse Pacific Crest v.s. Oregon Crusaders Colts v.s. Academy Oregon Crusaders v.s. Spirit of Atlanta Again, these are just my predictions. What are your predictions? Do any of your predictions match any of mine? Do you agree or disagree with my predictions? Please comment in this thread and we will find out!
  2. Just saw this pop up on Reddit. Thought I would post here.
  3. Here are the schedules for tonight's two shows. A Blast in the Burg -- Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania 7:08 p.m. -- Impulse 7:24 p.m. -- Stentors 7:40 p.m. -- Raiders 7:56 p.m. -- Music City 8:12 p.m. intermission 8:37 p.m. -- 7th Regiment 8:53 p.m. -- Legends 9:09 p.m. -- Spartans (all times Eastern) Percussion on the Pearl -- Muscatine, Iowa 7:18 p.m. -- Guardians 7:36 p.m. -- Louisiana Stars 7:54 p.m. -- Colt Cadets 8:10 p.m. Intermission 8:26 p.m. -- Gold 8:42 p.m. -- Vanguard Cadets 8:58 p.m. -- Blue Devils B (all times Central) Guardians' position in the schedule will throw off the judges a bit, I would guess. Genesis, River City Regiment, and Shadow have the night off.
  4. Please use this thread to report from Legends Drum Corps Open -- Three Rivers, MI 7:08 p.m. LakeShoremen (SoundSport) 7:18 p.m. Les Stentors 7:34 p.m. Raiders 7:50 p.m. intermission 8:10 p.m. Music City 8:26 p.m. 7th Regiment 8:42 p.m. Legends (times are Eastern) or Show of Shows -- Waukesha, WI 7:23 p.m. Kilties (all age) 7:39 p.m. Shadow 7:55 p.m. Impulse 8:11 p.m. intermission 8:41 p.m. Colt Cadets 8:57 p.m. Spartans 9:13 p.m. Blue Devils (times are Central) There should be no rain at either show. Last night in Troy, Legends beat Spartans by 1.5 pts., so it will be very useful to see how close Spartans can get to BDB tonight. Not to mention to see how Music City does against O.C. corps after their strong showing Friday in Nashville.
  5. This show is already well underway. Is anyone there? 6:10 p.m. Les Stentors 6:26 p.m. Raiders 6:42 p.m. 7th Regiment 6:58 p.m. intermission 7:20 p.m. Legends 7:36 p.m. Spartans Will Legends stay ahead of Spartans? Will 7th Regiment tighten the gap from the top two? And where will Raiders fit in after a month off?
  6. The DCI website is oddly limited in its information about this show. There is no zip code listed in the address. And no actual address, for that matter, just the name of the street. A little scouting with Google maps provides that data, but I'd also note that DCI's page for this show says still today, the day of the show, that "Ticket information about this event will be available soon." Anyway: A Blast in the Burg Memorial Field 284 W. Center Street Johnsonburg, PA 15845 Thursday, July 24 -- 7:00 p.m. Performance order: --Coastal Surge --Genesis --Stentors --Raiders --Legends --7th Regiment --Spartans This is the first meeting of current score leaders 7th Regiment and Spartans with an Open Class corps likely to be of similar caliber (Genesis--not sure why they go on so early), so we will see just how realistic their scores this season have been (particularly the Manchester scores). This is also the seasonal debut of Coastal Surge.
  7. I feel like this question needs to be asked. What's your favorite vocal or vocal passage? I really dug the fast 1234 vocal with leg swings in the middle of crowns show last year. It made me uncomfortable in more of a curious way? Anyway the colts this season seem to be pushing the limits of their vocal cords with a constant stream of vocals to keep me interested. I heard that past presidents are even giving the vocals a shot in some shows. Having them in the show really makes it all the more genuine and official. Well the question still stands....tell me your favorite vocal! Everyone's opinion is invited and I want to hear many different voices!
