  2. The Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps announced that the organization has extended Director Larry Carbonell’s term through the end of the 2017 season. Larry Carbonell was instrumental in revitalizing the Skyliners Drum Corps in May 2013, and leading the corps back onto the field of DCA competition in 2014. The Skyliners are celebrating their 70th Anniversary this year. The corps has showed growth – in experience and numbers – as they prepare for the 2015 DCA season. Keep up-to-date with us via our website, http://www.MarchSky.org and the Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/skylinersdbc . For those interested in marching this summer, it is not too late! Contact Adam Burdett at info@MarchSky.org.

  4. Alliance Drum and Bugle Corps has declared to compete in Class A for the 2015 season! The decision to compete in Class A this year was not taken lightly, but the staff and administration are excited about the move and potential it brings to the drum corps. We just completed our "Super Camp" (four day camp) and it concluded with the performance of nearly 8 minutes worth of the show. This is a first for Alliance and we are very excited about the possibilities that this opens up for our corps as the season unfolds. We are very excited to be on track with doing our first full-run next weekend at the conclusion of camp! Alliance's interim corps director, Jeffrey Peterson, was clear from the beginning of the season that he wanted to maintain Alliance's commitment to excellence and set the corps on a solid path for success. The corps has welcomed 69 members to its ranks (including two drum majors and two alternates) and has made key changes in its operation to give its members the best education and experience possible. Furthermore, the corps' administration is committed to giving as many performance opportunities as possible this year, including attending three DCA shows, a local DCI regional, a parade tour and a friends and family performance. We hope that you will enjoy our program, "Sub-zero" this year, and I speak for all of us at Alliance when I say that we are excited to present it to you.

  6. The Standish Guards of Plymouth, MA is looking for a volunteer brass instructor to help us build our horn line this summer. This could turn into a permanent paid position in the future. We have a competitive percussion ensemble that has been very active the past 5 years and there are a number of local horn players waiting in the wings. Lots of new ideas just waiting to be tried and we are very open to new things. Charts and instruments available with more on the way. Currently competing in DCA, BHoF and now with SDCA. Easy and fun with a low weekly commitment. Help us bring a full corps to Plymouth. Contact Dennis O'Neill, Corps Director visit our website or our facebook page or follow us on twitter. We are dedicated group and will continue our pursuit of building a full corps. www.standishguards.org 781-217-5730

  9. Hello, my name is Alexis Macy. I have been contracted to march baritone with the Sacramento Mandarins for their 2015 season. This is a major dream come true for me because I have always wanted to march with a corps, but I never though I could because Im primarily a flute player. I had taught myself baritone (I have been playing for about 9 months now) and I never thought I wouldve been good enough. But now I have been contracted and I have the chance to live my dream. However, there are a lot of fees associated with drum corps. My tour fees plus round trip flight for April is $1600. I am in desperate need for help with this fee. My parents are doing all they can, but they also have financial committments, which means it is up to me to try to raise the funds. If you, or anyone you know could possibly help, I have a gofundme account with which you can donate. My gofundme is gofundme.com/mandarinsme. Any donation is greatly appreciated! Please, I really need help. It would be heartbreaking if I couldnt march my dream due to lack of finances. Thank you!

With a conservative rehearsal schedule, performances will focus on (but not limited to) Ensembles, Individual, Exhibitions and Parades. “The fun of performing” will be emphasized this year as the corps embarks on a road less traveled. With this in mind, the corps continues to seek enthusiastic, motivated and creative individuals to bring this vision to light. To be a part of this new adventure, contact Nick Yaworski at nyaworski@sbcglobal.net or 203-720-2858.
