ajlisko
Here - I'll rattle yours - Steve Gadd or Billy Cobham? Billy Cobham! ... (IMO) ... terrific talent ... was in music school while in Sun ... came down with Sasso to write a few things with the Bpt PAL ... used to dirve him around to local music stores to buy drum heads for Sun when they ran out at the Barnum ... to see where he took his talent is unbelievable ... and to think ... we knew each other when ... :-) Edited August 11, 2014 by ajlisko

rayfallon
steve gadd. sorry andy. this is a matter of i don't know what. but hands down it's gadd. This is the reason I brought these two up - both brilliant - each maybe the best at what he does - Gadd - the ultimate sessions player - no one is even close; Cobham - from a sheer inventive musical standpoint - no one even close. Both the best. Both drum corps guys. Says something, huh?
TomPeashey
and despite long and successful careers... both men remember their heritage drum corps wise... I am fortunate to say I marched with Stevie Gadd....
rayfallon
OT again - Robin Williams. Hard to think of words for how sad this is. Remember 1978 DCI when TV crews were filming (taping?) scenes at Boulder HS stadium for Mork and MIndy. Hard to think of someone that funny being so in the thrall of depression. Makes you (again) want to go around and hug the people you care about, and the people that make you laugh. Laughter is so critical to life. RIP ...
