MikeD
A 1969 show at the City of Brotherly Love...I'll have a cheesesteak..."wit"...???? The corps has a name that is the second half of the name of my favorite all time opener played by the 27th Lancers, if I am not mistaken??? HornsUp
The judge is wearing khakis. perhaps a hint that the show is a VFW or similar event. VFW always had a mixed panel, and the judges wore their regular association uniforms. Sometimes with a little personalization. At '69 VFW in Philly, there were 2 CSJA judges in their B&Ws. But both of them were Irish. So Ed Morrissey (bugles) wore orange socks, and Bob Currie (drums) wore green socks.

Or as one member put it "It takes balls to wear orange on St Patricks Day".

If Crown Imperial is the opener you're thinking of, you might be.

Listened to the 1969 Kilties recently and it's no surprise they had a great year. I'm wondering who wrote the brass book. Reminds me a tad of Tru Crawfords work with Big Blue. HornsUp
Would that arranger be Mr. Norman? For a quarter of a century, 1952-1976, all the Kiltie music was written by just two men - Emil Pavlik and Mr. Norman.

ironlips
So, are we saying the corps in the photo is Norwood Park? The colors don't look right, I think, but maybe one who knows better than I can make out the flag design.
