Will Posted January 4, 2008 Share Posted January 4, 2008 Just because it says "Made in China" doesn't mean it is REAL silk. Polyester China silk is just that - polyester blended with china silk. Raw china silk is pure silk, and not mixed with other fibers. therefore, it is not accurate to say that poly china silk is "real" just because it is stamped with a MADE IN CHINA label. justgin Posted January 5, 2008 Author Share Posted January 5, 2008 (edited) Yes, I called Band Hall and FJM first, to see if they still sold it, but both have moved to only Poly China-Silk (they used to sell real silk, but haven't in years). Dye won't take with synthetic fibers, so we had to have the real thing.....100% real silk. I got my 50 yards of 8mm Silk Habotai from Dharma Trading today and started making flags tonight during rehearsal. Thanks everyone!
