It’s almost time for the longest running corps run drum corps contest in the country.

13 Performing corps, the biggest show during the regular season.

The 44th Annual Drum Corps Grand Prix

Saturday July 12, 2008 Clifton School Stadium

First exhibition starting at 6:45 PM

Sponsored by American Legion Post 199.

Presented by the Hawthorne Caballeros.

Gotta get there early - lousy parking but a very good Italian restaurant (at least it was last time I was there 3 years ago) across the 4-lane.

That is one hell of a show!,................for $18.00!

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! With that lineup, looks like I might make it back home by the second Tuesday of the following week!!!! :doh::doh::tongue:

just for some trivia...........does anyone know who won the first grand prix? and no looking on the corps reps or senior history site.

The first Grand Prix was a junior and senior show, held in Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ, in 1965. Senior winner was your own Rochester Crusaders, and I believe the junior winner may have been St. Lucy's Cadets, though I am not totally sure about that.

Didn't look it up -- I was there as a spectator.

Hey Fran! We have something of a 'family tradition' of a late night dinner at the Coach House on Route 4 in Hackensack after the Grand Prix. Often see others from the show there as well. You're always welcome to join us before you head home.
