JimF-LowBari
"Serving as a backdrop to the discussions, more than 95 yards of the field were in use by a scholastic football camp, while stadium officials continued to assess the damage in preparation for the upcoming repairs" So exactly what was damaged if almost all of the field was in use today? Newseditor44
Hmmmm, that was extremely vague. I hope they can pull this off. No where in that release did it say the field would be repaired in time, in fact, they did a very good job of dancing around the topic. All I got was that they were meeting, and oh by the way, there's a high school team in the background. I'm sure everything will be fine, but I worry about the tone of the release. Good question. From the original articles out on Friday, it said damage extended from the end zones all the way to the 30 yard line. Hmmm. Then the latest article today in the Indy Star said the campus sustained over $1 million in damage and the "majority" of it was from the turf. Greenspan himself even said the field was a "total loss". What the heck? This is way too confusing...

I went looking for that Greenspan quote... and I've seen several people quoting him, but haven't actually been able to find it. Anyone have a link? DrumCorps2008
I went looking for that Greenspan quote... and I've seen several people quoting him, but haven't actually been able to find it. Anyone have a link? "and athletic director Rick Greenspan says he's bringing in some turf specialists to see if the field can be saved. But he says it's possibly a total loss." He wasn't in a possition to declare it a total loss. That's for experts to decide. Plus, he said "Possibly" not "definately". Looks the the experts determined it was repairable and not as big a problem as first thought.
BishRob
Alright! The "Move finals to Madison NOW!" contingent can pack their bags and go home now. if true, this is great for Indiana tourism! I remember when Montreal bowed out in 1989, somehow Kansas City hosted the finals again. Although there are logistics involved that I won't pretend to know, Madison is the most recent location to host DCI Finals that would be practical. Then again, bad weather hit Wisconsin as well. I've heard something about the Dells (a tourist attraction) on Weather Channel, but don't know if Madison was spared. IIRC, Madison sits between two lakes.
