OYPA is traveling together alongside VK's groups as well as Matt's. To compensate for the high prices of gas, we are going to steal food from them!!!!!!

Couldn't be any happier with the groups I'm traveling with, best of luck, you're gonna need it!!!! :w00t:

To compensate for the high gas prices we will be siphoning gas out of OYPA fleet during retreat. It will be like having a refueling tanker following you around. :ninja:

OVT is finishing up everydays right now. The show "The Unforgiven" is completed and there are a couple things being polished after a rewrite to add some different stuff in visual wise, and everyone is eager to start competition. The corps helped host OVPAAs first preseason competition, and everyone seemed to enjoy that. The corps is currently at Marshall University, staying in dorms, practicing on the soccer field, we will be having our final runthrough at the stadium Thursday evening before loading up Friday morning and driving to Genoa, IL where we are staying for the DeKalb and Rockford shows.

The past couple weeks have been brutally hot with temperatures being upwards of 90-100 degrees, we got a slight reprive this week after some rains brought the temperatures down to the 80s. The university has been gracious while we have been here. During a couple of the hottest days, the athletic department set up the large misters in our water area so the kids could get some relief from the heat. A few of the guys brought Xbox systems, so we had a "Guitar Hero" tournament and a "NCAA Football" tournament. We had our "Everydays Talent Show" with a few of the staff members making up our own panel of judges a la Randy, Paula, and Simon. A great time was had by all, and congratulations to "The Fifth Avenue Boys" (OVT's version of a Backstreet Boys coverband) on winning.

Storm Troopers are an hour away from OVT at the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, OH. The entire community of Rio Grande has really embraced us and welcomed us warmly. People have brought food, water, snacks, and one local farmer brought and industrial fan to set up near the break area. The kids have dealt incredibly well with the heat, the cicadas, on the other hand have been a big nuisance, especially to some of our female members. The show is completely on the field, the colorguard uniforms came in on Friday, and we expect the show flags to be in for the first show in Rockford. Everyone is very excited for "Immortal" to come to life with everything in place.

Coal Valley Storm is also almost finished with everydays at beautiful Concord University in Athens, WV, and ready to take the show to Charlotte this weekend! Our colorguard uniforms are still not finished, so we will not have them for the first show, but we have the flags. The corps moms have been working 12 hour days to finish the hemming and final adjustments to our new uniforms, but our new horns will not be here until our Second Half. The new percussion equipment came in last Tuesday, so we no longer have the OVT's old set of black Pearl drums, but a brand new set of black Yamaha drums to go with our new Yamaha horns. Everyone is very excited for our first season of full tour.

Kosmos has spent the last 2 weeks working HARD at UD Stadium- they've got all of their drill on the field, now we just need to go back and do some cleaning and finish up the guardwork. The defending champs are looking GOOD this season.

Minnesota Madness is getting ready to hit the road here in a few days. The show A Tribute to Chick Corea, MnM style, is all on the field. Every days are pretty much over with. Rehearsals are just chunking the show to just get the flow of it down and what not. The corps is very excited to begin it's first season of competition in the D-1 level and feels it can make a huge impact and make finals this year. Lofty goal for a first year corps but I feel they can achieve that goal. The hornline is putting out some sound like none other. The drumline is throwing down some killer beats and the guard is doing pretty well with the work we have thrown at them. Not the cleanest but that is what rehearsal and shows are for to clean up every day.

We will be leaving for Rockford on Saturday sometime, get down there a day earlier than planned. Get some good rehearsal down there and be pretty prepared for our first show. The gas prices will be tough to deal with but the corps has done a lot of fundraising and got some pretty sweet sponsers here in the Twin Cities area.

But good luck to all and see you all on the road! It is going to be a kick ### season

We already give away Maine lobster at the Lobster Classic in Portland and its a pretty small show at this point!!! The Knights are looking at some pretty small shows to start off the season! Probably a good thing since our true focus has yet to switch from our winter business operations!
