DCIHasBeen
Rewrite:The Roman Legions and Spartacus go out for a non-alcoholic beverage. They pull out photos of their children. They laugh and agree to disagree about the whole slavery thing. Spartacus says, "I'm Spartacus, and I'm proud to be employed by the Romans. Everyone goes home and goes to bed. The moon is full and casts a pleasant glow over the village. The end. That's worse than Peter Jackson's 101 endings for "Return of the King" (I'm justa sayin' ...) Galen
Mike, you forgot about the part where they all pull out a garden hose and have a jam session. And the part where they all enjoy cheese.
spanksregular
You must be a thinking person!!BTW, I like your forum name. Really fits in this thread. What makes you say that? (that my name fits the thread) Anyway it's true. Come on folks, these kids are going to get on a bus and do unspeakable things, where's the thread about that?? Galen
Non-alcoholic? What kind of sick and twisted ending is that?It seems DCP has spoken. Most DCI fans are OK with a little sex or violence as long as there is no sax or violins. POTY candidate!
NR_Ohiobando
wow. I came in here expecting a discussion about violence...and I see talk of porn/rape/alcoholism. Not really saying it's bad, I'm sure there's a reason for it...I'm just saying it was a definite WTF moment. I could see how a first viewing would cause a "shock to the system", but once I know it's coming I don't really mind it as much and just accept it without question. Michael Boo
Mike, you forgot about the part where they all pull out a garden hose and have a jam session. That's being saved for Finals night.
Michael Boo
And the part where they all enjoy cheese. Cheese is implied. But if implied isn't good enough, how about adding some fire as well? Michael Boo
and take a bath in chocolate While swashing their buckles. (Okay, so I gave him that line, as he reported to Dan Potter a couple months ago. So sue me.)
stylites
You forgot:Crown promoting paganism in '02 Colts promoting a gay agenda in '95 by performing Sondheim (how's THAT for obscure corps references!) Pioneer "endorsing" the IRA by constantly alluding to their Irish heritage Cadets promoting imperlalism, western expansion, "manifest destiny" and the big oil agenda in their '96 show Troopers- the same, EVERY year Cadets promoting hedonism with their '97 show ("Celebration") Renegades promoting Vampirism and satanism, last year Senior corps promoting drinking, every year Kilties promoting cross-dressing, ever year SCV promoting mind control and hypnotherapy with the beginning of "Not the Nutcracker" Yeah, silly me! We can find fault in about 50% of the shows out there, if we want to take a Puritanical stance. But it is art. And art is sometimes edgy. And even though you and I made fun of this in our posts, there are people who might actually take these things seriously. Especially the Kilties cross-dressing. Darn those Scots! ;) Anyway, happy 4th to everyone.....even though you think that Spartacus should have simply held peaceful protests.
