cjw5168
"All-skate" - Happens after a rep, normally during ensemble rehearsal. It means any staff is allowed to make comments, not JUST visual or JUST music staff. Usually called from the box. "The Box" - the focal point for most of a drum corps' show. This is where the staff (who aren't on the field) sit during rehearsal, and it's where the judges (who aren't on the field) sit during a show. lawrenceleclaire
Fry Session - a time when the entire corps came together where members could "air-out" any conflicts that had with other members and staff. Usually mid-field on the 50 at whatever field we were practicing. Good times... Edited August 30, 2008 by lawrenceleclaire
bksnare84
Tic-less Beer - the art of pouring a beer into a glass to the very top, with one single drop spilling over the edge cascading down the glass, but stopping before it hits the table. (often seen in your favorite beer commercials) Note: requires an incredible amount of practice and devotion to perfeting this manuver

hrnguy500
Drama - unnecessary bickering, grudges and attitudes that some members insist on carrying throughout the tour and thus only hurting the corps in the long run. Elmo Blatch
First Off, Last On: A member who is first to get off the practice field and last to get back on it. This member(s) is usually awakened at some point during tour in the early hours of the morning and treated to a "pillow party." Pillow Party: A surprise party given for an under-performing member in the corps, intended as a means to motivate the member to work harder or leave for home. A pillow party derives its name from the original version, in which members took pillows (sometimes filled with shoes, clothes, etc.) in a mad dash in the early hours of the morning, and give the under-performing member a "reach out and touch you" party. A common rule for etiquette is that persons initiating the party can't throw the surprise until after the recording of Conquest (see BAC) is heard, at which point a mass flurry of feet are heard across a dark gym and within 20 seconds, the party is over. Tour Goggles: The effect of being separated from society on tour for so long that a member finds even the most unattractive person to be sexy. Forks in a Blender: A cadence performed by a drumline which has not spent sufficient time cleaning said cadence. Shoes in the Dryer: SEE FORKS IN A BLENDER Show Day: Actually refers to a rehearsal day in which a show occurs later in the day. Usually, the corps experiencing a Show Day have a shorter rehearsal day and the staff doesn't tend to "max out" the members.
