Crossing the wet thing

I'm aware that DB is planning, hoping, crossing fingers! to do a European Tour after everdays[so late May/early June] for 3 weeks, but are any Euro Corps coming to the States?

It was a pleasure to see Beatrix and Stragnas in Bloomington this past season, but who will it be this next season?

I'm also curious to know what corps have traveled across the Atlantic, I know Gmen and Star[of Indiana] have, but havent others?

Empire Statesmen traveled to London in 1998, winning the World Association of Marching Showband Championships, as well as the American Legion and Drum Corps Associates titles that year.

The Statesmen traveled to Europe again in 2001, this time to Kerkrade, The Netherlands (site of this year's Drum Corps Europe Championships) for the World Music Contest.

what DCE/DCUK/IMBA bands are coming to the states?

does traveling to another continent help or hinder a corps' competitive season?

Hardly any UK corps make the trip. The last I think was Mayflower in 1995.

The cost is the main factor, it's just so expensive to travel over. Plus the time commitment from members who don't have long summer breaks and many of whom work full time.

Depressingly almost all UK corps who've been to the states have folded a year or two afterwards!

Props to Beatrix and Jubal who manage to programme a visit every few years. Must be a huge amount of work (and Euros!) that goes into that.

I will say this: When Statesmen went to Holland in 2001, we were able to rehearse every day for a week. Normally, we get Saturdays and some Sundays during the season, so this was almost like being on tour again.
